In the vast expanse of existence, he wandered free, Seeking purpose and truth, his soul yearning to see. In the labyrinth of life, he was adrift, Longing for a guiding light, a true gift.

Then, like a radiant constellation above, Jesus descended, a beacon of love. A lighthouse amidst the shadows of night, Leading him with grace, illuminating the right.

His love, a river, flowed deep and wide, Cascading through his being, a tranquil tide. A symphony of compassion, a melody divine, In His embrace, every discord found its line.

With Him, he soared like an eagle, unrestrained, Spreading faith’s wings, no longer restrained. He was the steadfast mountain, a pillar of strength, In His presence, he found solace, unending in length.

Within life’s symphony, He conducted the score, Harmonizing hearts, forevermore. A conductor of grace, guiding each beat, In His love’s symphony, they found retreat.

Though he sought not a need, but completeness in Him, In His grace, he found the light to grow dim. And still, he wanted her, his love, by his side, A cherished choice, where their souls abide.

In her presence, his heart found its home, Through joy and trials, they shall roam. For she, his dear, was the one he desired, A partner, a friend, his soul’s warming fire.

So, as he journeyed through life’s crazy dance, With Jesus, his companion, his soul’s romance. He embraced His light, His love, His grace, and he wanted her, his wife, to share this embrace, However, he didn’t need her, his wife, because he had Him in all his life’s strife.

  • Devo – Luke 19

    July 20th, 2023

In Luke 19, several significant events take place in the life of Jesus. Here’s a summary:

    1. Zacchaeus the Tax Collector (Luke 19:1-10):
Jesus enters the city of Jericho and encounters Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector who is disliked by the people because of his profession and corruption. Zacchaeus, being short, climbs a sycamore tree to get a glimpse of Jesus passing by. Jesus notices him and invites himself to Zacchaeus’ house. The encounter leads to Zacchaeus repenting of his sins and pledging to give half of his possessions to the poor and repay anyone he cheated fourfold. Jesus declares that salvation has come to Zacchaeus’ house, emphasizing his mission to seek and save the lost.
    2. The Parable of the Ten Minas (Luke 19:11-27):
Jesus tells a parable to his disciples, illustrating the Kingdom of God with the story of a nobleman who goes away to receive a kingdom and entrusts his ten servants with minas (a form of currency). When he returns, he assesses their faithfulness in handling the minas. Those who multiplied their minas are rewarded, while the one who hid his mina out of fear is rebuked.
    3. The Triumphal Entry (Luke 19:28-40):
As Jesus nears Jerusalem, he instructs two disciples to fetch a colt for him to ride, fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9. Jesus rides into Jerusalem amidst the cheering crowd, who spread their cloaks on the road and shout “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” The Pharisees, in contrast, express disapproval, but Jesus states that even the stones would cry out in recognition of him.
    4. Jesus Weeps Over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41-44):
Jesus approaches Jerusalem and, seeing the city, he weeps over it, foretelling the destruction it will face due to its rejection of him as the Messiah. He expresses his desire for them to recognize the things that lead to peace but laments their blindness.
    5. Jesus Cleanses the Temple (Luke 19:45-48):
Upon entering Jerusalem, Jesus goes to the temple and drives out the merchants and money-changers, rebuking them for turning the house of prayer into a den of robbers. He continues to teach in the temple daily, while the chief priests, scribes, and leaders seek ways to destroy him.

In addition to the events that occurred in Luke 19, this chapter carries several essential meanings and themes:

    1. Salvation and Redemption: The encounter with Zacchaeus exemplifies Jesus’ mission to seek and save the lost. Zacchaeus, as a tax collector, was considered a sinner and outcast in society, yet Jesus extends forgiveness and salvation to him, emphasizing God’s love and mercy for all.
    2. Stewardship and Faithfulness: The parable of the ten minas teaches the importance of being faithful stewards of the resources and opportunities God has given us. The servants who multiplied their minas were rewarded, while the one who failed to invest his was held accountable. It reminds us to use our talents for God’s purposes.
    3. The Messiah’s Triumphal Entry: Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem riding on a colt fulfills Messianic prophecies and signifies his royal authority. The crowd’s enthusiastic reception reflects the people’s hopes for a political Messiah who would liberate them from Roman rule.
    4. Compassion and Grief: Jesus’ weeping over Jerusalem reveals his deep compassion and sorrow for the people’s rejection of him. It demonstrates his longing for them to recognize the way of peace and find salvation through him.
    5. Holiness and Zeal for God’s House: Jesus’ cleansing of the temple underscores the importance of maintaining the sanctity of God’s house and the reverence for worship. It also challenges the religious leaders’ corruption and hypocrisy.
    6. Prophetic Fulfillment: Throughout Luke 19, several events fulfill Old Testament prophecies, emphasizing Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promises and the long-awaited Messiah.

Overall, Luke 19 portrays Jesus as the compassionate Savior who seeks to redeem and reconcile humanity with God. It highlights the themes of salvation, stewardship, prophecies, Messiahship, compassion, and the call for genuine worship and faithfulness to God. This serves as a significant point in the narrative leading to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, ultimately pointing to God’s redemptive plan for us.

David shows his trust in the Lord. Despite facing opposition, David knew God was guiding and protecting him. The psalm brims with joy as David puts his faith in God. In my study , I learned that one of the phrases in verse 10 is often mentioned in the New Testament when talking about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  • Poem – God’s Theatre

    July 20th, 2023

In the grand theater of life, we take our stage,
Where God, the Director, sets each scene’s gauge.
With skilled hands, the Creator weaves a tale,
Guiding us through the acts, never to fail.

The curtains rise, and life’s drama unfolds,
    Emotions and stories, constantly untold.
Each moment a performance, unique and grand,
Scripted by the Divine, with love at hand.

God casts us all in various roles we play,
Some bear the spotlight, others in the fray.
Through laughter and tears, our lines are recited,
In this grand theater, our souls are ignited.

Sometimes we stumble, unsure of our part,
But God’s gentle guidance mends every heart.
With patience and grace, the Director inspires,
Instilling in us strength as life transpires.

The set may change, scenery shifting fast,
But God’s unwavering presence shall forever last.
In the highs and lows, we find solace and might,
For the Director’s wisdom guides us through the night.

So, let us embrace our roles, however grand or small,
Trusting in God’s direction, surrendering to His call.
For life is but a stage, and we are players true,
In the theater of existence, directed by God’s view.

  • Poem – Illusions of the Skin

    July 19th, 2023

Amidst the veiled mist, he sought her allure,
A riddle wrapped, a puzzle obscure.
In the labyrinth of secrets, she held the key,
But he ventured forth, a seeker, wild and free.

She was a shadow, dancing in darkness’s embrace,
Whispering secrets with a cryptic grace.
In the moonlit dances, her secrets unfurled,
Yet he yearned to decipher, this tragic world.

A flicker of moonbeams adorned her face,
As he longed to touch her skin, her warm embrace.
But she vanished, leaving no trace behind,
In his dreams, her touch, an elusive find.

In the echoes of silence, he found his guide,
Through whispers of wind, truths to confide.
As he yearned to know her, heart and soul,
The mystery deepened, taking its toll.

Through the corridors of time, he pursued,
In search of answers, truths long subdued.
A dance of riddles, they engaged and spun,
In a clandestine tango, two souls as one.

But as he delved deeper, he came to know,
    Mysteries untangled, illusions in tow.
No longer reliant on her beguiling art,
He embraced the chambers within his heart.

In the shroud of the night, he found his place,
An ambient soul, veiled with mystic grace.
She may have been the key to the unknown,
But he became the cipher, a mystery on his own.

Though he touched her skin only in his dreams,
In his soul’s journey, nothing’s as it seems.

  • Devo – Luke 18

    July 19th, 2023

In this chapter it talks about a widow who keeps bothering a judge until he grants her justice, showing us to be persistent in prayer. Then there’s this tale of a proud Pharisee and a humble tax collector praying in a temple. The tax collector’s humble attitude is what Jesus likes.

Next, people bring their kids to Jesus, but His friends try to stop them. Jesus is like, “Nah, let the kiddos come! The kingdom of God is for those who are like them, full of trust and innocence.”

This rich dude wants to know how to get eternal life, and Jesus tells him to sell everything and follow Him. But the guy can’t let go of his fancy stuff, so he leaves sad.

Jesus then says it’s hard for rich folks to enter God’s kingdom, which surprises His friends because rich people were considered blessed. But Jesus explains that it’s about hearts, not money.

Peter asks what the disciples will get for following Jesus, and He assures them of rewards both in this life and the next.

On the way to Jericho, there’s this blind beggar named Bartimaeus who yells for Jesus to have mercy on him. Jesus heals him, and everyone is stoked and praising God.

So, in a nutshell, Luke 18 teaches me about prayer, humility, letting go of worldly stuff, childlike faith, and the amazing things that happen when I continue to follow Jesus!

  • Poem – Sickness’s Strength

    July 19th, 2023

Beneath the enigmatic sky, a shiver of sickness started to grow around him. A veil of mystery was cast around the place, where shadows danced with no resounding sound.

In fever’s trance, reality seemed to bend, revealing realms that none could comprehend. Through haze and mist, a shift took place, unveiling truths in cryptic embrace.

Whispers echoed from the unknown, a language only the ill had known. His perspective twisted, and boundaries faded, as twilight’s realm laid secrets that awaited.

In this journey, he walked with Jesus, guided by the Savior’s light, making his steps easier as he navigated through the mysterious ways of the night.

Through veiled visions and twilight’s hue, a hidden world came into view. The sickness wove its mystic art, unraveled truths within his heart.

With Jesus as his steadfast guide, he navigated the shadows wide. Amid the trials, he found strength in his wife, who stood by his side, the beacon in life.

In midnight’s grasp, perspectives changed, and the ordinary took a strange range. Embracing the love that anchored his soul, he found the strength to face sickness’ toll.

A dance of secrets, sickness’ waltz, unveiled enigmas like ancient vaults. As dawn approached, the mystique departed, yet remnants lingered in his hidden heart.

For in the haze of sickness’ night, he glimpsed mysteries coming to light. With Jesus and his wife by his side, he found a deeper meaning to unwind, in her strength, his hope aligned.

  • Devo – Luke 17

    July 19th, 2023

    Luke 17 thoughts…

    1. The Power of Forgiveness (Luke 17:1-4):
In this passage, Jesus addresses his disciples and emphasizes the importance of forgiveness. He warns against causing others to stumble by leading them into sin. He says that it would be better for someone to have a millstone tied around their neck and be thrown into the sea than to cause others to sin.

Jesus then instructs his disciples on how to handle situations where someone sins against them. If a brother or sister repents, they should forgive them, even if the person sins against them seven times in a day. This shows the limitless nature of forgiveness that Jesus encourages his followers to adopt.

    1. Faith and Duty (Luke 17:5-10):
In this section, the disciples ask Jesus to increase their faith. Jesus responds by explaining that even a small amount of faith can achieve great things, like uprooting a mulberry tree and casting it into the sea.

He then uses a parable to illustrate the concept of servant duty. Jesus compares his followers to servants who have duties to perform. Even if they do everything commanded, they should not boast or expect special treatment, as it is their duty to serve. This teaching emphasizes humility and obedience in following Christ.

    1. Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers (Luke 17:11-19):
This passage narrates the story of ten lepers who approach Jesus, calling out to him for mercy. Jesus instructs them to go and show themselves to the priests, which was a requirement under Jewish law for declaring oneself cleansed from leprosy.

As the lepers go on their way, they are miraculously healed. However, only one of them, a Samaritan, returns to Jesus to express gratitude and give thanks. Jesus commends the Samaritan for his faith and recognizes his gratitude, which stands as an example of how faith and thankfulness go hand in hand.

    1. The Coming of the Kingdom (Luke 17:20-37):
In this section, the Pharisees question Jesus about the timing of the Kingdom of God. Jesus replies that the Kingdom does not come with observable signs but is already present among them. He points out that people shouldn’t look for specific dates or times, as the Kingdom’s presence is a spiritual reality.

Jesus warns against being deceived by false prophets and false expectations about the Kingdom’s arrival. He compares the coming of the Son of Man to the days of Noah and Lot, illustrating that life will go on as usual until the sudden appearance of the Kingdom.

Luke 17 provides profound teachings on forgiveness, faith, gratitude, and the nature of the Kingdom of God. The chapter emphasizes the significance of humility, compassion, and readiness for the Kingdom’s arrival, encouraging us to live faithfully and gratefully as we await Christ’s return.

  • Devo – Day 15 / Psalms 15

    July 19th, 2023

David knows that no one is perfect, so imperfect people might feel out of place before God. The following lines describe the characteristics of a truly righteous person, showing what righteousness looks like, not how one proves their righteousness to the God (Psalm 15:1).

The term “blameless” refers to reputation, not being sinless, but someone with a life free from criticism by others. Honesty is a way to gauge this. A righteous person is truthful about others and themselves, thinking honestly about both (Psalm 15:2).

A righteous lifestyle means no lying, speaking ill of others, or harming neighbors. It also involves considering if others’ lifestyles honor God and respecting them accordingly. The righteous person keeps their word, even if it’s disadvantageous, showing honesty and love for others (Psalm 15:3–4).

A righteous person doesn’t give financial aid to profit from those in need, and they reject bribes, maintaining impartial judgment (Psalm 15:5).

  • Poem – Reunited Love

    July 18th, 2023

Amidst the dusky forest of my heart’s tangled glade,
I wandered lost, in shadows, my love’s light did fade.
A labyrinth of thorns, doubts, and fears, my soul betrayed,
Seeking redemption’s bloom, beneath the starry cascade.

Then, like a guiding star, Jesus appeared in the night,
A lighthouse of hope, casting shadows to flight.
His presence, an ethereal moon, casting silvery light,
A beacon of grace, leading me from the blight.

On bended knees, I implored, my heart’s plea unfurled,
A fragile butterfly seeking liberation from the world.
His love, a prism’s kiss, in kaleidoscopic whirls,
Unveiling colors of forgiveness, the flag unfurled.

With a brush dipped in compassion, He painted my soul,
An artist of salvation, mending fragments to make me whole.
Through the gallery of trials, He etched a sacred scroll,
In each stroke of grace, His divine symphony did unroll.

In the chapel of rebirth, the canvas found its theme,
A vast of renewal, woven in love’s redeeming beam.
The autumn leaves of remorse danced away in a dream,
As spring’s embrace adorned my heart’s meandering stream.

Through the stained glass of grace, our spirits did blend,
A dance of metamorphosis, from ashes to transcend.
In the garden of forgiveness, my soul found a friend,
As I reunited with my wife and family, love did ascend.

  • Devo – Luke 16

    July 18th, 2023

Luke 16 starts with the Parable of the Shrewd Manager. Jesus tells a story about a manager who is about to be fired by his master for mishandling his possessions. Realizing that he is in trouble, the manager comes up with a clever plan to secure his future. He goes to his master’s debtors and reduces their debts, earning their favor. While this might seem unethical, Jesus points out that the manager’s resourcefulness is commendable, even though his actions were dishonest. The lesson here is that believers should use worldly wealth wisely and responsibly, focusing on building relationships and investing in eternity.

Next, Jesus addresses the Pharisees, who were lovers of money and self-righteousness. He warns them about the danger of putting their trust in wealth and not seeking a relationship with God. Jesus emphasizes that what is highly esteemed among people is often detestable in God’s sight.

Then, the chapter moves to the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. This story contrasts the lives of a wealthy man and a poor beggar named Lazarus. The rich man lives in luxury, while Lazarus struggles to survive at the gate of his house, longing for the scraps from the rich man’s table. Both men die, and Lazarus is carried to Abraham’s side in paradise, while the rich man goes to Hades, a place of torment. The rich man, realizing his fate, pleads for mercy and asks that Lazarus be sent to warn his brothers. Abraham responds that they have Moses and the prophets to guide them, but the rich man insists that someone rising from the dead would convince them. Abraham concludes the parable by saying that if they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, they would not be convinced even if someone were to rise from the dead. This parable teaches the importance of compassion and the dangers of greed and neglecting the needs of others.

In the latter part of Luke 16, Jesus confronts the Pharisees’ love of money directly, condemning their hypocrisy and lack of concern for justice and the kingdom of God. He reminds them that their hearts are known to God, and they cannot serve both God and wealth.

Luke 16 contains parables that emphasize the proper use of wealth, the danger of putting trust in riches, and the significance of caring for others, especially those in need. The chapter calls me to focus more on eternal values, genuine relationships, and a proper understanding of the heart’s condition before God. Amen!

  • Poem – Falling In Love…Again

    July 18th, 2023

Amidst the ethereal waltz of above,
Our love story unfurls like a celestial creation of love.
Through the sands of time’s hourglass, we found our way,
Rebuilding the bridge where dreams, once lost, did lay.

In the twilight’s alluring embrace, we held each other close,
Enraptured by the enchantment of the love we chose.
Through shadows’ realm and pain’s tender grace,
We unearthed strength, our hearts to interlace.

With every sunrise, a new chapter unfurls,
Where passion blooms and hope forever swirls.
In the symphony of laughter, our hearts align,
    As love’s kaleidoscope colors interwine.

Her touch, a tender caress of grace’s art,
Ignites a celestial fire in my soul’s hidden heart.
In her eyes, a constellation of dreams takes flight,
As we voyage through heavens, bathed in love’s pure light.

With every word, a melody to mesmerize,
A symphony of affection, passionately arise.
The echoes of forgiveness tenderly resound,
As we forge anew on love’s hallowed ground.

In this divine embrace, I find solace and art,
A masterpiece of love, etched within the heart.
The alchemy of time, love’s elixir rare,
Makes me fall in love, with her, everywhere.

  • Devo – Day 14 / Psalms 14

    July 18th, 2023

This Psalm basically says that those who reject God are acting like fools, stubbornly ignoring His existence. It’s not about lacking intelligence or evidence, but about choosing to live as if God doesn’t matter.

From God’s perspective, humanity was once beautiful but got messed up by sin. Even when people try to be good, sin messes things up. David is pointing out how messed up those are who reject God’s existence.

But David believes that those who ignore God will face judgment, while believers can find comfort knowing that God will set things right.

In the end, the Psalm looks forward to when Jesus comes back to establish His kingdom on Earth, which is a total win against sin. This gives all God’s people a big reason to celebrate.

  • Poem – Anniversary Of The Day I Was Born

    July 18th, 2023

As the years pass by, and I reach this day,
A celebration of life, a milestone on my way.
For it’s my anniversary, and I reflect upon the past,
Grateful for the blessings, each memory to last.

Closer to fifty, the journey unfolds,
    Moments cherished, stories yet untold.
With every gray hair and wrinkle I acquire,
God’s grace illuminates, setting my spirit on fire.

In youth’s exuberance, I chased dreams so wild,
But now, wisdom’s whispers calm the inner child.
For God’s guiding hand, in every season of life,
Brings joy and contentment amidst any strife.

With each passing year, I gain insight anew,
Discovering the depth of God’s love that’s true.

Though my steps may slow, and energy wanes,
God’s presence within me, forever remains.
In His embrace, I find strength and grace,
As I embark on this next chapter’s embrace.

Be So, as I celebrate this milestone with glee,
I’m grateful for the journey that God lets me see.
For as I grow older, I find joy in His plan,
Closer to fifty, but forever in His hands.

  • Devo – Luke 15

    July 18th, 2023

In the Parable of the Lost Sheep, Jesus speaks of a shepherd who, upon realizing that one of his sheep has gone missing, leaves the rest of his flock behind to search for the lost sheep. He rejoices when he finds it and emphasizes that there is more joy in heaven over one repentant sinner than over the righteous who do not need repentance, illustrating the importance of God’s unconditional love and redemption.

The Parable of the Lost Coin features a woman who loses one of her ten silver coins and thoroughly searches her house to find it. Upon locating the coin, she celebrates with her friends and neighbors, teaching a similar lesson to the previous parable, emphasizing God’s joy in the recovery of a lost soul.

Finally, the Parable of the Prodigal Son centers around a young man who asks his father for his share of the inheritance and subsequently squanders it in reckless living. Finding himself destitute, he decides to return to his father’s house, hoping to become a hired servant. However, his compassionate father embraces him with open arms, organizing a grand celebration to welcome his lost son home. This parable stresses God’s unconditional forgiveness and mercy, illustrating that no matter how far one has strayed, they can always find redemption and grace in God’s love.

Luke 15 emphasizes the profound compassion, love, and joy God experiences when a lost soul repents and returns to Him. It highlights the divine willingness to forgive, redeem, and celebrate those who have gone astray, providing a powerful message of hope and encouragement for all who seek God’s love and salvation.

  • Poem – Desire For Intimacy

    July 17th, 2023

In the heart, a yearning resides,
For emotional intimacy, where our love abides,
I crave the connection, the soulful embrace,
To know you completely, your dreams I’ll trace.

Curiosity blooms like the dawn’s first light,
A thirst to discover, to learn day and night,
With open ears, I’ll listen to your every word,
In the maze of your emotions, I’ll be stirred.

With a caring tone, I’ll hold you near,
Wiping away worries, casting away fear,
Your joys and sorrows, I’ll cherish the same,
For in unity, our love will forever reclaim.

A bond so profound, like a castle in the sand,
In moments of vulnerability, we’ll both find strength,

In the journey of love, let us find our own way,
For in the depth of your soul, my heart is embraced,
And with you, my love, my soul finds its place.

  • Devo – Luke 14

    July 17th, 2023

In this chapter, Jesus is depicted as sharing profound teachings and engaging in interactions with Pharisees and other guests during a meal at the house of a prominent Pharisee.

The chapter opens with an incident where Jesus heals a man suffering from dropsy on the Sabbath, highlighting His compassion and challenging the religious leaders’ legalistic approach to observing the Sabbath.

Following the healing, Jesus observes the behavior of the guests at the meal, and He offers teachings on humility. He uses a parable to illustrate that when attending a feast, it is better to take a lower seat and be invited to a higher place than to be humbled by being asked to move to a lower seat. This parable emphasizes the virtue of humility and warns against pride and self-exaltation.

Jesus also instructs the host to invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind to his feasts instead of inviting only his friends and wealthy neighbors. This message underscores the importance of showing kindness and generosity to the less fortunate, reflecting the values of God’s kingdom.

In the latter part of Luke 14, Jesus addresses the great crowds that were following Him. He talks about the cost of discipleship, urging people to count the price before committing to following Him. He uses two parables, the Tower Builder and the King Going to War, to illustrate the need for careful planning and commitment in discipleship.

Another parable found in this chapter is the Parable of the Great Banquet. It conveys the message that God’s invitation to His kingdom is open to all, but many people make excuses and reject the invitation due to worldly concerns and priorities.

Towards the end of the chapter, Jesus emphasizes the need for total commitment to Him. He says that His disciples must love Him above all else, even their families and themselves. This radical commitment highlights the central importance of Jesus in the lives of His followers.

Luke 14 concludes with the Parable of the Lost Sheep, which illustrates God’s deep love and care for each individual. Like a shepherd seeking a lost sheep, God actively seeks out and rejoices over every sinner who repents and turns to Him.

Luke 14 contains a wealth of teachings and parables that focus on humility, hospitality, the cost of discipleship, and the all-encompassing love of God. These lessons continue to be relevant and inspiring for me to live out my faith in daily life.

  • Poem – 13th Day

    July 17th, 2023

On the thirteenth day of parting’s sting,
In sorrow’s depths, my heart takes wing.
Like Psalm 13, I cry out in despair,
Longing for hope and love’s repair.

As David’s plea reached the Divine,
I seek solace in prayers entwined,
Through tears and pain, I persevere,
    Hoping restoration draws near.

The void within, it echoes strong,
    Yet faith’s beacon shines along.
I trust in time, healing will unfold,
As Psalms and days gently enfold.

With courage in this trying strife,
I’ll find strength to rebuild my life.
Just like the psalmist’s spirit, I’ll strive,
And in hope, my heart will revive.

  • Poem – Serve

    July 17th, 2023

In faith, my heart took flight,
To serve my God with all my might.
But amidst this devotion, a love so true,
A beacon of light, my wife, I found in you.

In prayer and worship, I found solace and peace,
Yet, your love brought an earthly release.
A partner to cherish, a love that’s rare,
Together we’ll conquer, a perfect pair.

Through trials and triumphs, hand in hand,
United we stand, on this sacred land.
You’re my rock, my joy, my heart’s delight,
In serving God and you, my soul takes flight.

In love’s embrace, two worlds entwine,
A divine bond, forever, it’ll shine.
For God and you, I’ll give my best,
In this journey of love, we are truly blessed.

  • Devo – Luke 13

    July 17th, 2023

In Luke 13, Jesus talks to a bunch of people about changing their ways and seeking forgiveness (verses 1-5). He shares a story about a fig tree that hasn’t produced any fruit, but it gets another chance to grow (verses 6-9). Jesus then heals a woman who couldn’t walk for 18 years, and he uses this to teach about the importance of healing and rest on the Sabbath (verses 10-17).

Later, he tells two short stories about a mustard seed and yeast, showing that the Kingdom of God starts small but grows big over time (verses 18-21). Jesus also talks about going to Jerusalem despite knowing that trouble awaits him there (verses 22-35). He wishes he could protect the people of Jerusalem, just like a mother hen protects her chicks.

Some Pharisees warn Jesus about Herod wanting to harm him, but Jesus doesn’t get scared (verses 31-33). He expresses sadness over Jerusalem because the people there missed their chance for salvation (verses 34-35).

In a nutshell, Luke 13 is all about Jesus teaching, healing, and sharing stories to show that change is possible, God’s Kingdom is growing, and he’s determined to keep going despite the challenges he faces.

Luke 13 (verses 23-30), really stuck out to me. Jesus reminds us that He’s here to guide our hearts, not just satisfy our curiosity. Instead of asking, “How many will be saved?” we should ask ourselves, “Will I be one of them?”

He tells us to focus on ourselves and our actions, not worry about what will happen to others. We need to strive to enter through the narrow gate, which means making a real change in our lives.

These words are for all of us; we each need to put in the effort. Salvation requires a transformation of our whole being. So, let’s wake up and take this seriously. The answer to the question, “Will only a few be saved?” is not as important as what we do with our own lives.

Don’t lose hope, though. In heaven, we’ll be surprised to meet many unexpected faces and miss some we thought would be there. The key is to focus on our personal journey and seek salvation earnestly.

  • Poem – Guide Their Souls

    July 17th, 2023

In the tender embrace of God’s design,
I raise my children, a love divine.
With every step, I nurture and guide,
In His grace and wisdom, we’ll abide.

Like seeds in soil, they grow and bloom,
Each unique soul, with dreams to assume.
I’ll be their guardian, strong and true,
For God’s love flows through all we do.

With gentle hands, I’ll shape their way,
    Teaching compassion, day by day.
I’ll share the stories of love and light,
And help them soar to reach new heights.

In patience and kindness, I’ll instill,
The values that will shape their will.
For God’s blueprint guides their path,
    Unfolding futures, free from wrath.

I’ll foster their dreams, like wind beneath wings,
Supporting their passions, the joy it brings.
In their hearts, I’ll nurture faith and trust,
For God’s love is the foundation, robust.

Through laughter and tears, in triumph or strife,
I’ll teach them the beauty of this precious life.
With God as our compass, we’ll navigate,
And embrace the challenges, love will translate.

So, as I raise my children, I will find,
    God’s love and wisdom intertwined.
In His grace, I’ll walk this journey’s length,
Guiding their souls with steadfast strength.

  • Devo – Day 13/Psalms 13

    July 17th, 2023

David starts this psalm feeling really down, thinking God’s not there for him, and he’s all sad about his enemy, probably when King Saul was chasing him. With his enemy backed by a whole nation, David feels overwhelmed and helpless. He’s honest about feeling like God forgot him and looks everywhere for a way to beat his enemies. But then, David turns to God, asking for help and answers. He knows only God can save him. Without God’s help, he’s sure he’ll lose, and his enemies are probably already celebrating his fear (Psalm 13:1–4).

But here’s the thing, David’s faith doesn’t crumble. Even though he doesn’t get why things are happening, he still trusts God. He leans on God’s love and celebrates His saving power. David remembers how good God has been to him, and it cheers him up, making him want to sing. The psalm starts all sad and ends up full of joy. It shows that when doubt creeps in, sorrow follows, but when David’s faith is strong, he’s all about praising God (Psalm 13:5–6).

I can see 7 main ways I can apply this psalms in my own life:

    1. Honest Expression of Emotions: The psalm teaches me the importance of being authentic and honest with God about my feelings, even during difficult times. It’s okay to express my frustrations, fears, and doubts in prayer.
    2. Seeking God in Times of Trouble: When faced with overwhelming challenges, I can follow David’s example by turning to God for help and seeking answers in our faith.
    3. Trusting God’s Unfailing Love: Despite not always understanding the reasons behind my trials, I can maintain trust in God’s love and care for me, knowing that He is always with me.
    4. Rejoicing in God’s Salvation: As I remember God’s past goodness and deliverance in my life, it can bring me hope and joy, encouraging me to praise and worship Him.
    5. Dealing with Doubt and Building Faith: Psalm 13 reminds me that doubt and faith can coexist in my lives. It’s essential to confront my doubts and actively work on strengthening my faith in God.
    6. Persevering in Prayer: David’s persistence in seeking God’s answers can inspire me to persevere in my prayers, even when I don’t receive immediate responses.
    7. Finding Strength in Weakness: When I feel overwhelmed and helpless, I can rely on God’s strength to carry me through difficult times.

My final thoughts on Psalm 13 encourages me to be real with God, seek His help and guidance in tough situations, trust in His love, and find joy and hope in His salvation. It teaches me valuable lessons on faith, prayer, and resilience during challenging moments in life.

  • Poem – I vow

    July 16th, 2023

Through trials faced, my spirit strong,
    Though medical battles may prolong.
With you, my love, I’ll persevere,
In sickness and in health, my dear.

When shadows cast their daunting veil,
Your love and support will never fail.
    Together, we’ll conquer every strife,
For you’re the light that guides my life.

Though challenges may test our might,
In your embrace, I find my light.
A vow to hold you close and near,
Through pain and joy, year after year.

With every hurdle that we face,
Our bond grows stronger in embrace.
No matter what life throws our way,
Forever yours, I’m here to stay.

  • Devo – Luke 12

    July 16th, 2023

Luke 12 starts by reminding us that God’s oversight extends to every aspect of our lives, even the smallest details. Those who confess Christ will be acknowledged by Him, but those who deny Him will face consequences. The key is not to fear human opposition but to trust God and be faithful. 12:1-12

Jesus’ kingdom is not of this world, and as His followers, we should not focus on accumulating worldly wealth. The parable of the rich fool teaches us that true happiness doesn’t come from material possessions. We should seek eternal rewards and be generous to others rather than solely pursuing personal gain. 12:13-21

Jesus then urges us not to worry about our daily needs, but to trust in God’s care for us. We should prioritize spiritual matters and be ready for Christ’s return, living in readiness for the future. 12:22-40

We must take to heart Christ’s teachings and examine our lives. The gospel may cause divisions, but we should boldly proclaim it. Christ’s suffering and death paved the way for the gospel’s spread, and through it, sinners can find redemption. 12:41-53

Christ next encourages us to be spiritually discerning, just as we are in worldly matters. It is crucial to seek peace with God while we have the opportunity, for our time on earth is limited. 12:54-59

The verse that stood out most to me is Luke 12:31 – “But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.”

What do the folks ask Jesus, and how does he respond? Jesus points out the real problem here by talking about how wanting too much stuff is like worshiping idols. We all need to hear Jesus’s warning cause it reminds us to put seeking His kingdom first.

In the story, there’s a rich dude who’s got loads of stuff, but instead of sharing, he builds bigger barns to store it all. God tells him he’s a fool because he’s focused on material things and doesn’t prepare for his soul. Jesus wraps it up by saying it’s essential to be rich in what matters to God.

Based on this, Jesus helps his followers by telling them not to worry about basic needs. He reminds them how God takes care of birds and how stressing out is pointless. He points to flowers and grass as examples of God’s care, and reminds us that God knows what we need.

The word “go after” is repeated, showing that we should actively pursue God. God promises to give us what we need if we seek His kingdom first. A life centered on His kingdom is all about growing spiritually and trusting God’s provision, which helps us avoid being jealous or overly anxious.

Jesus calls his followers a “little flock” because they need guidance and care. To stay focused on His kingdom, we gotta prioritize what’s spiritual over just chasing material things. Think we are all guilty of this at times.

  • Poem – Boundary

    July 16th, 2023

In love’s embrace, I promise to tread with care,
To give you space, your heart’s peace to share.
For boundaries set, like petals on a flower,
Guard tender souls from storms that may devour.

    With gentle whispers, understanding grows,
A sanctuary where trust freely flows.
Your dreams, your hopes, I’ll cherish as my own,
    For in respect, a love’s foundation’s sown.

In solitude, we find our souls unwind,
And in that solitude, our love defined.
For in this dance of life, we learn to sway,
Together, yet apart, in love’s own way.

So hand in hand, we’ll walk the path we trace,
With love’s embrace, and giving, grace to grace.

  • Devo – Jude

    July 16th, 2023

The Book of Jude is all about slamming false teachings big time. Jude, who was an apostle and Jesus’ half-brother, initially wanted to talk about their shared salvation, but he changed his plan because of those pesky apostates—people who rejected the truth and turned away from God. Instead, he gives a heads-up to his readers about these apostates and makes it clear that they’re in for some divine judgment because of their shady lifestyle and evil teachings. Jude takes care to tell the real believers apart from the fakes, calling true believers “called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ.” He’s like, “Hey, beloved readers, keep the faith and help others too!” And don’t worry, he assures them that God’s got their backs and can keep them blameless and super happy.

  • Poem – The Twelfth Day

    July 16th, 2023

In the days of separation, my heart doth yearn,
Twelve days have passed, each moment a concern.
Like Psalms 12, I seek solace in prayer,
For the trials we face, I lay my burdens bare.

As David lamented the deceitful tongue,
I ache for the words that once made us strong.
But trust in the Lord, I’ll not lose my way,
His love shall guide me through this disarray.

In verse three, the psalmist finds hope anew,
Just as I find strength in memories of you.
Though apart, our bond shall not fade or sever,
For love endures, it lasts beyond endeavor.

On the twelfth day, like Psalms 12, I’ll stand tall,
With faith and patience, we shall conquer all.
For in due time, our hearts shall reunite,
And once again, our love will burn bright.

  • Devo – Day 12 / Psalms 12

    July 16th, 2023

The Bible doesn’t hold back when it comes to recording honest human complaints. Sometimes, when bad stuff happens, we ask, “God, where are you?” The Bible puts everything in context and tells us that God will eventually stand up for His people. David is pretty bummed out, feeling like there are no good people left, and everyone’s just lying (Psalm 12:1–2).

So, David calls on God to judge those wicked folks. He points out how these deceitful people flatter others, but it’s all fake and meant to take advantage of them. These wicked folks think they can get away with their smooth talk and trickery, but David knows God will deal with them in the end (Psalm 12:3–4).

But hey, David’s not all gloomy. He also trusts that God will judge evil eventually (Psalm 12:5). In verse 6, he compares God’s words to super-refined precious metals, perfectly pure. God’s Word is like the gold standard, absolutely flawless (Psalm 12:6).

By the end of the psalm, David comes back to the same theme. He’s like, “Man, there’s so much corruption and evil everywhere.” In simple words, it’s like saying evil acts like a predator, preying on others. Instead of valuing God’s pure and precious Word, people often prefer worthless lies and deceptions (Psalm 12:7–8).

  • Devo – Luke 11

    July 16th, 2023

In the beginning, Jesus teaches the disciples about prayer, rounding out a series of stories on the blessings for those following Him. The next part shows how the Jewish religious leaders deliberately reject Jesus and depicts their sinful actions.

The prayer section is divided into three teachings. Jesus teaches the disciples “The Lord’s Prayer,” highlighting our dependence on God for even the smallest things, both physical and spiritual. He tells a parable of the persistent neighbor, illustrating God’s love, and assures us that if earthly fathers provide good things, we can be confident that God will do even more for us.

The larger section starts with the rejection of Jesus by the Jewish religious leaders. They accuse Him of using demonic power to perform miracles. Jesus counters their logic, explaining that casting out demons means opposing Satan and, therefore, Satan’s kingdom. He warns the leaders subtly.

Jesus gives an intriguing explanation of demons’ workings, suggesting that we should fill our hearts with the Holy Spirit to avoid falling back into darkness once freed from demons.

Jesus advises careful interpretation of their experiences, as their understanding will determine whether they see the truth or stay in darkness.

Towards the end of the chapter, Jesus pronounces “woes” on the religious leaders, exposing their hypocrisy and lack of love for God.

A lawyer acknowledges Jesus’ words apply to them as well, and Jesus criticizes the religious leaders for rejecting God’s prophets and wisdom.

The chapter concludes by summarizing the fallout of Jesus’ conflict with the Pharisees and lawyers, who continue their attacks until His arrest.

The verse that stood out to me was verses 33-34. Imagine this, when you light a candle, you don’t hide it away in some secret spot or under a basket, right? Nah, you put it on a candlestick so everyone who walks in can see the light.

Same goes for us and our minds. Once we’re filled with the knowledge of God, it’s like having that bright candle light in us. And you know what? We gotta share that light with others. So, our main focus should be praying for that divine light to guide us and shine through us, illuminating the path for those around us.

  • Poem – Sunday Sunday Sunday

    July 16th, 2023

In the embrace of Sunday’s gentle dawn,
My heart sings a joyful and sacred song.
For church awaits, Sunday Sunday Sunday,
Where souls unite, worries find release, hooray!

With my wife by my side, wanting to be hand in hand,
Together we enter this sacred land.
In the pews we sit, hearts ready to embrace,
The melody of worship, God’s loving grace.

As voices join in harmonious refrain,
The weight of the world, we gently unchain.
The hymns, like whispers of celestial light,
Sunday Sunday Sunday, shining so bright!

Through prayers that ascend, like wings taking flight,
Our souls find solace, in His presence alight.
The sermons unfold, wisdom’s gentle flow,
Nourishing our hearts, as God’s love we sow.

In the fellowship, we find warmth and care,
A community of believers, ready to share.
With open hearts, we listen and connect,
Sunday Sunday Sunday, a bond we won’t forget!

But it’s the moments beside my cherished wife,
That hold a special meaning, a sacred life.
For in her presence, I find strength and peace,
Sunday Sunday Sunday, love’s divine release!

Together we praise, in unison and awe,
Seeking God’s guidance, as we walk life’s raw.
With grateful hearts, we navigate each tide,
Sunday Sunday Sunday, His love will abide!

So, I eagerly await each church service day,
To join in praise, with my wife by my side, I say.
For in this sacred communion, we find our way,
Sunday Sunday Sunday, growing stronger every day!

    July 15th, 2023

In her eyes, a universe unfolds,
A story of wonders yet untold.
With each struggle, I’ll be there,
A steadfast soul, showing I care.

In her presence, I find delight,

Her essence, a puzzle to explore,
I yearn to know her even more.

I surrender my heart, my being,

In this journey, together we’ll flow.

  • Devo – Reflection on Philippians

    July 15th, 2023

Reflection for my bible study class:

The book of Philippians is all about keeping a positive attitude as Christians, especially when life gets tough. It’s like learning to rejoice even in hard times. Paul encourages believers to keep on rejoicing despite their troubles (Philippians 1), find joy in serving humbly (Philippians 2), focus on Christ when things get rough (Philippians 3), and lean on His strength during struggles (Philippians 4).

Chapter 1 starts with a quick intro and then goes into three important sections. First, Paul thanks God for the Philippian Christians and prays for them (Philippians 1:3–11). Then, he talks about how even in his suffering, the gospel is spreading (Philippians 1:12–18). And finally, he shares that living means serving Christ, and even dying would be a win (Philippians 1:19–30).

In Chapter 2, the theme of rejoicing through tough times continues. Paul shows the example of Christ’s humility (Philippians 2:1–11) and how believers are like shining lights in a dark world (Philippians 2:12–18). He also talks about his buddies Timothy and Epaphroditus, fellow Christian workers (Philippians 2:19–30).

Chapter 3 reminds us to keep our focus on Christ when we’re going through tough times. Paul says righteousness comes from believing in Jesus, not from what we do (Philippians 3:1–11). He talks about aiming to follow Christ and reach the goal (Philippians 3:12–21).

In Chapter 4, it’s all about finding strength in Christ during suffering. Paul talks about praying for each other and giving encouragement (Philippians 4:1–9) and trusting that God will take care of our needs (Philippians 4:10–20). Then he wraps it up with a short conclusion (Philippians 4:21–23). So, when we’re going through tough times, the book of Philippians reminds us to keep our heads up and focus on Jesus.

  • Devo – Luke 10

    July 15th, 2023

    Evening reading – Luke 10

In Luke 10, a bunch of disciples learn to appreciate their blessings, and a lawyer finds out his actions depend on his character. Jesus praises Mary for choosing Him over what society expects of her.

Then, in Luke 10:1–12, Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples to get places ready for Him by healing and preaching about God’s kingdom. If a town accepts them, great! They should stay there and heal the sick, proving they’re for real. But if a town rejects them, no worries, they should leave and still spread the message that God’s kingdom is near.

In Luke 10:13–16, Jesus gets kinda sad because He knows some cities will reject Him despite seeing His miracles. He says if the notorious cities of Sodom, Tyre, and Sidon had seen His power, they’d have listened.

When the seventy-two come back, they’re stoked because they could cast out demons. But Jesus reminds them that the real win is having eternal life (Luke 10:17–20).

Later on, Jesus is thankful that regular folks, not just the know-it-alls, understand Him and God. That’s like the blessing of knowing Jesus is also knowing God.

Then, there’s a chat about the Law. A lawyer asks Jesus how to get eternal life, and Jesus points him to loving God and others, just like in Matthew 22:34–40 and Mark 12:28–34. Then comes the famous parable of the good Samaritan, where Jesus shows that love is what matters, not nationality or anything else (Luke 10:29–37).

The chapter closes with a cool example of a disciple who gets what it means to follow Christ. Mary of Bethany listens to Jesus while her sister Martha is all caught up with serving, as society expects. But Jesus praises Mary for choosing what’s more important (Luke 10:38–42).

What stood out this time to me was verse 16. My thought on this is as followers of Jesus, we shouldn’t get all worked up when people accept or reject His message. Of course, we should be pumped to share it and get that it’s a big deal for their eternal future. But let’s remember, it’s not about us. It’s all about Jesus. They’re deciding about Him, and in the end, they’re choosing or rejecting God. Our mission is about God, His Son, His message, His Kingdom, and saving the lost. So, it’s not about us, it’s about Him and what He’s all about.

  • Devo – Day 11 / Psalms 11

    July 15th, 2023

I think the main point is that those who follow God should trust Him and stand strong against evil. When the authority that honors God is lost, everything falls apart. You probably have experienced this just like I have.

At the beginning of this one, David asks himself a question like, “Should I run away in fear?” But his answer is a resounding “No way!” He knows that if godly authority, like his role as king, crumbles, it’s gonna be a disaster. The third verse of this psalm can be applied to different aspects of life, whether it’s culture, family, government, or personal faith. Basically, when the foundations we rely on are destroyed, we’re in big trouble.

Instead of running away, David celebrates the fact that God is in control and knows everything. He knows that God deeply cares about His people and righteousness. The psalm ends with David praying for God’s justice to come down on the wicked and expressing his hope to see God one day.

  • Devo – Luke 9

    July 15th, 2023

First, Jesus empowers his Twelve disciples, granting them authority to heal, cast out demons, and preach the kingdom of God. Their work produces abundant fruit, comparable to fertile soil.

Herod, however, responds differently. He represents the path that rejects the seed. Upon hearing about Jesus, Herod speculates whether he is John the Baptist, Elijah, or another prophet raised from the dead. Herod desires to meet Jesus, but their encounter only takes place during Jesus’ trials prior to his crucifixion.

During the feeding of the thousands, the focus shifts from Jesus’ teachings and healing to the disciples’ faith, which still remains shallow despite witnessing Jesus’ power. Jesus intervenes, miraculously feeding the people and leaving enough leftovers. This remarkable event is recorded in all four Gospels.

Jesus then asks his disciples who they believe he is, and Peter correctly identifies him as the Christ of God. Jesus foretells his death and challenges the disciples to follow his example.

Peter, James, and John witness Jesus’ glorious transformation, while the other disciples struggle to free a possessed boy. Jesus once again performs a miraculous act that the disciples should have been able to accomplish through their faith.

The final three stories of Jesus’ Galilean ministry reveal that the disciples still lack understanding regarding Jesus’ purpose. When Jesus predicts his death, the disciples become confused. They engage in an argument about greatness and reject a stranger who casts out demons in Jesus’ name, demonstrating their prioritization of status within the inner circle rather than submission to Jesus’ authority.

Continuing the theme of the disciples’ misunderstanding, a Samaritan village refuses to offer hospitality. James and John suggest calling down fire to destroy the village, reflecting their incorrect perception of miraculous powers as tools for accumulating power rather than blessing others. Jesus rebukes them, and they continue on their journey.

Lastly, Luke employs flashbacks and an original story to highlight the requirements for Jesus’ disciples. Disciples must be willing to let go of comfort, worldly responsibilities, and even family. They need to be prepared to sacrifice their earthly lives in order to gain eternal life. Matthew also recounts Jesus’ interactions with two individuals.

The main verses that stood out for me were 9:23-27. I think in life we pick up the cross, then life gets in the way and we lay it back down. We need to be in His word daily or sin will seep back into our souls.

It’s a huge comfort that Jesus is God’s chosen one. That means he was specifically picked and fully equipped to be the Messiah. Jesus talks to his disciples about his own sufferings and death. But here’s the thing: instead of trying to stop his sufferings, they need to prepare themselves for their own challenges. Sometimes we face tough situations while doing what we’re supposed to, and while we shouldn’t go looking for trouble, when it comes, we gotta handle it like Jesus did. Our happiness depends on the state of our souls, not just our bodies. Even if our bodies are going through a tough time, our souls can still find joy. We should never be ashamed of standing up for Christ and his message.

And never stop carrying the cross! ever!

  • Devo – Luke 8

    July 15th, 2023

    PM reading Luke 8:

In Luke’s account of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee, he tells stories that reveal Jesus’ character and expectations for His followers, while also urging people to follow Him. Luke 8 continues this pattern. It describes Jesus’ blessings to those considered outcasts by Jewish society and explains the mechanics of following Him through the parable of the sower. It also shares stories of people’s faith after encountering Jesus in various ways.

Luke 8 begins with women who financially support Jesus and His disciples. These women, like the characters in chapter 7, are not influential or powerful in their society. However, they use their resources to honor God, just like the centurion who built a synagogue and the sinful woman who anointed Jesus’ feet.

The “parable of the sower” in Luke 8 provides an outline of different reactions to the gospel message. People’s response depends on their openness and attachment to worldly concerns. Luke uses this parable differently than Matthew and Mark, focusing more directly on the call to believe for salvation. He then records miracles and interactions that demonstrate how people react to Jesus’ message.

Jesus tells the “parable of the lamp under the jar” in Luke 8. This parable emphasizes the importance of sharing the gospel for people to hear and accept. Luke also mentions similar parables in Mark and Matthew.

Luke 8 presents an example of people’s response to the gospel. Jesus’ mother and brothers want to see Him but metaphorically stand “outside,” rejecting His message. Those who accept His message are considered His true family. Eventually, His mother and brothers come to accept Him as their Savior.

The theme continues as the disciples witness Jesus’ power over a stormy sea. The story represents the chaos of the world, and the disciples must decide what it means and who Jesus truly is. Luke also includes the well-known account of the man possessed by demons, illustrating Jesus’ ability to provide spiritual salvation.

The chapter ends with the healing of Jairus’s daughter and the woman with an issue of blood. These intertwined stories highlight Jesus’ power to provide salvation from illness and even raise the dead. Luke leaves the response to the girl’s resurrection open-ended for readers to contemplate.

Verses 5-8 resonated with me because of current circumstances. Hope this all helps you.

  • Devo – Luke 7

    July 15th, 2023

    Morning reading: Luke 7

Luke 7 continues sharing stories about Jesus’ ministry in Galilee, while emphasizing the importance of faithfulness. In this chapter, we hear about six different events that show how people reacted to Jesus and His ministry.

In the first story, a generous centurion sends Jewish elders to ask Jesus to heal his servant. Jesus is amazed by the centurion’s faith and heals the servant. Simon the Pharisee serves as a contrast, lacking faith and understanding of his own sin.

The second story features a powerless widow from Nain, whose dead son is raised to life by Jesus. The townspeople are amazed and give glory to God. We also hear about a sinful woman who shows great love and gratitude to Jesus.

The third story involves John the Baptist, who sends disciples to ask Jesus if He is the awaited Messiah. Jesus reassures John and fulfills Old Testament prophecies.

In the following story, Jesus talks about the different reactions people have towards John the Baptist and Himself. Some embrace the message, while others reject it based on their own self-righteousness.

The fifth story introduces another powerless woman, a sinful woman who washes Jesus’ feet with her tears and perfume. Her act displays her love and faith in Jesus.

The chapter concludes with the faithless Simon the Pharisee, who fails to understand his own sin and Jesus’ true identity.

Throughout Luke 7, connections are made between Jesus and Old Testament prophets, highlighting Jesus as a prophet, healer, and minister to both Jews and Gentiles. This emphasizes Jesus’ fulfillment of Jewish Scriptures and His intention to save both Jews and Gentiles.

Luke 7 1-10 stand out to me more. It shows us how to have strong faith and learn from Jesus’ own actions. This passage comes right after Jesus gives His disciples some instructions on how to follow Him. In Luke 6, Jesus gave them a guidebook on discipleship. Now, in Luke He shows them through His own life what it means to be a true disciple. He’s not just talking the talk, He’s walking the walk. That hit me hard.

  • Devo – Day 10/Psalms 10

    July 15th, 2023

    Day 10/ Psalms 10 thoughts:

In the beginning of Psalm 10, the writer expresses frustration when faced with evil. We can’t wrap our heads around why God isn’t stepping in right now, exactly how we want Him to. It’s like a shout of distress from the heart. Feel that.

Evil people seem to be successful, at least in the world’s eyes. They actively target the poor, helpless, and weak to take advantage of them. And they’re not ashamed of it, either. These folks completely ignore God’s will and act as if He doesn’t even exist. Because they’ve got material wealth, they think there won’t be any consequences for what they do.

David paints a picture of wicked people as predators. They go to great lengths to prey on unsuspecting and vulnerable individuals. And the same ones who deny God’s existence are the ones who sneer at the idea that God would care about their sins. They think they can get away with it.

After venting about the presence of evil people, David prays for God to step in. He’s amazed that some people turn away from God and believe they won’t be held accountable for their sins. In contrast, the Lord knows the needs of the weak and helpless. So David calls on God to disrupt the power of the wicked, searching and judging their lives until every bit of sin is exposed.

It wraps up with praise for the Lord and confidence in His ultimate victory. Even though it starts with frustration and anguish, it ends on a hopeful and faithful note. What God has done for His people brings assurance: a trust that He will listen and act according to His perfect goodness.

    So encouraging right now!

  • Devo- Day 9/Psalms 9

    July 15th, 2023

    Day 9 / Psalms 9 thoughts:

In my research I read that this psalm was probably meant to be sung to a particular tune of David’s time. Plus, this psalm follows this cool pattern where each section starts with a different letter of the Hebrew alphabet is what I read too. Super cool.

Psalm 9 kicks off with David’s plan to give a big shout-out to the Lord and praise Him for all the awesome stuff He’s done. David’s probably talking about the military victories that Israel scored against their enemies. He pictures these enemies stumbling around, unable to escape because God’s power is so strong.

Then, David goes on to sing God’s praises as the ultimate judge who brings righteous justice. When he talks about “the nations,” he’s talking about all the non-Israelite folks, basically the wicked world. God wipes them out so completely that they’re completely forgotten. No trace of those wicked nations remains.

But hey, God’s not just a judge. He’s also this eternal, powerful ruler. He hands out justice and righteousness from His super high position. David describes God as a safe haven for the oppressed, like a super fortified fortress. When the wicked world attacks, those who trust in the Lord can find refuge in Him. He never abandons or forgets His people. So, naturally, they should give Him props and praise.

After all the talk about God’s righteousness and justice, David’s like, “Yo, God, please save me from these haters who wanna kill me!” David’s plea is all about trust, even though he doesn’t give specific reasons for God to save him. It’s just all about God’s grace. This song connects answered prayers with praising God.

David wraps things up by predicting the total destruction of all who oppose God. Those wicked people and nations who refuse to acknowledge God will be wiped out. But hey, the needy won’t be forgotten, and the poor will always have hope. Even though David’s talking about his own time, this also points to the ultimate victory of Christ when He comes back. David ends Psalm 9 by praying for God to judge the nations, scare them silly, and remind them that they’re just regular people.

Hope my funny laid back version helps you!

  • Devon- James 5

    July 15th, 2023

    Evening reading James 5 thoughts:

So, in the final chapter of James, there are three parts you gotta know about.

First off, James goes off on those rich landowners who were treating the poor Christians like dirt. He tells those fancy folks to start crying and getting all worked up because their doom is coming. He paints a picture of their riches going to waste, their fancy clothes getting eaten by moths, and their gold and silver getting all corroded. James talks as if it’s already happened, which is a typical Bible prophecy. Anyways, those selfish jerks have been hoarding their wealth while others suffer, ripping off their workers, and living it up while others live in poverty. They even messed with the courts to harm the innocent and poor. But guess what? God has seen it all, and their day of reckoning is on the way.

Then James turns to the struggling Christians and tells them to hang tight. He says the day of the Lord that those oppressors fear is actually something they can look forward to. It’s definitely gonna happen, and the Lord is just waiting at the door. James wants them to be patient, just like farmers waiting for their harvest. They should stay strong in their faith, stop complaining about each other, and take a page from the Old Testament prophets and Job, who stayed faithful through tough times. God knows what they’re going through and will reward their loyalty.

Remember when James told believers to see their struggles as “joy” at the start of his letter? Well, he wasn’t saying they should fake happiness, but that they should realize God can bring something good out of any situation. Now, as he wraps things up, James tells them to show their faith by praying no matter what’s going on. Got troubles? Pray. Feeling happy? Sing some praise. Sick or feeling spiritually weak? Get the community involved, call in the elders for prayers and anointing with oil. God will lift you up and forgive your sins.

James wants the Christians to have each other’s backs. They should confess their sins to one another, so they can all pray for each other’s strength and healing. Prayer is a legit powerful and effective tool, and God totally listens and responds. James keeps hammering the point that your actions show what you believe. So, if you believe in the power of prayer, well, go ahead and pray.

Last but not least, James tells the everyone to go out there and rescue those who’ve strayed and fallen into sin. They have a chance to save souls from death.

Biggest verse for me was 5:13-15 power of prayer is great! This has been something lacking in my life but for the last 2 months do it constantly throughout my day. Sometimes in my head, sometimes yelling in my car, and sometimes with my wife and others. It has been a game changer! Like, Just do it! Lol

  • Devo – Psalms 58

    July 15th, 2023

    Psalms 58 thought:

This one shows us that God isn’t too happy with wicked people. He’s fed up with their lies and violence. It’s like they’re born bad right from the start. David wants God to punish them big time, break their teeth, and tear them apart. And honestly, considering all the awful things some people do, they kind of deserve it, right? But here’s the thing, God is also a loving God. He sent Jesus to save us from His judgment. God’s a judge, but He’s also a way out if you choose Him.

  • Devo – Luke 6

    July 15th, 2023

    Morning reading Luke 6:

Luke 6 keeps going with Luke’s story about Jesus’s time in Galilee. It starts off with more examples of Jesus showing his power and authority, but the people in his hometown of Nazareth don’t buy it. Luke then goes on to talk about Jesus calling his Twelve disciples, mixed in with stories of Jesus doing things that go against what the religious leaders want (Luke 5). In Luke 6, Jesus finishes choosing the Twelve and moves on to a big speech where he talks about what it really means to follow him. The chapter ends with Jesus telling everyone to base their lives on him.

In the first part of Luke 6, Jesus gets into trouble with the Pharisees for letting his disciples pick and eat grain on the Sabbath. He basically tells them that even King David broke the rules when he needed food, so it’s not a big deal.

Then there’s another story where Jesus heals a guy with a messed-up hand on the Sabbath. The Pharisees get all worked up about it because they think it’s breaking the rules. Jesus basically tells them that doing good on the Sabbath is more important than following their strict traditions. They get even more mad at him.

After that, Jesus picks the rest of his disciples to join the ones he already chose. They’re the guys who are gonna help him build his church, except for that traitor Judas.

The rest of the chapter is Jesus giving his sermon. It’s kinda like the one he gave on the mountain, but shorter. Jesus talks about how the poor, hungry, sad, and hated people are gonna be blessed, while the rich, full, lucky, and popular ones are gonna have problems. If you’re persecuted for following Jesus, you’re in luck. But if you’re all about getting people to like you, you’re gonna be in trouble. Most of this stuff is gonna happen in the future, though.

Then Jesus goes on to say that we should love our enemies and be nice to them. Even if they treat us badly, we should still treat them well. It’s all about showing mercy and love, just like God does to us. He says we shouldn’t judge others before we’ve dealt with our own issues first.

Jesus talks about how people who follow him need to have a good heart. If you’re good inside, you’ll do good things. It’s like a good tree that gives good fruit. So, if you want to be a follower of Jesus, you gotta be a good person.

Finally, Jesus tells everyone to build their lives on him. If you do that, you’ll be strong and won’t fall apart when things get tough. It’s all about depending on Jesus and doing what he says.

Luke 35-36 really stood out to me today as I pondered. I spent much time not doing this but now I pray for them. It was brought so much more peace.

  • Devo – James 4

    July 15th, 2023

    Evening reading James 4 thoughts:

Living by the world’s wisdom instead of God’s wisdom has some serious consequences. James 4 talks about this and explains how it leads to fights and arguments among people. When folks only care about their own selfish desires, things get messy and people end up hurting each other. James even calls it cheating on God because it’s like being unfaithful to Him. But don’t worry, he says repentance is always an option, and God’s got plenty of grace to go around.

James tells those who have been following the world’s wisdom to change their ways and start listening to God. If they resist the devil and get closer to God, they’ll experience His grace and forgiveness. It means letting go of their selfish ambitions and trusting that God’s plans are way better. Oh, and James reminds everyone not to be all judgy, ’cause that’s God’s job, not ours.

He also says we should be humble and remember that life is short. Making plans is cool and all, but we gotta stay humble and be open to God changing our plans at any moment. And here’s a kicker: James says it’s not just about avoiding harm to others, but actively doing what’s right. If we know what’s right and don’t do it, that’s a big no-no.

So, in a nutshell, James wants us to ditch the world’s wisdom, embrace God’s wisdom, stay humble, do what’s right, and trust that God’s got our backs.

Biggest thing for me was 4:7-8. James wants us to know that many Christians, just like us, sometimes fall into the trap of relying on themselves and chasing after worldly desires. It leads to fights and conflicts with other believers because they’re too focused on getting what they want, even if it means ignoring God’s plans and timing.

God sees this as cheating on Him with the world, and He’s not happy about it. But the good news is that He doesn’t kick us to the curb. James reminds us that God gives us even more grace, especially when we humble ourselves.

So, when we realize we’ve been going down the wrong path, James tells us to submit to God once again. We need to let go of our selfish desires and accept the good things God has for us. Instead of trying to get everything for ourselves, we should start caring about others.

And don’t forget to resist the devil! James says that the devil is behind this whole worldly wisdom thing, and we need to push back against his lies. When we stand up to him and draw near to God, the devil will run away like a scaredy-cat.

Resisting the devil means rejecting his lies and reminding ourselves of the truth in God’s Word. When we do that, the devil can’t handle being around us.

To sum it up, James wants us to ditch the self-reliance, get back to God, start caring about others, and give the devil a good kick in the butt by standing firm in God’s truth.

  • Devo – Psalms 57

    July 15th, 2023

Doing extra this morning because I am needing him more right now.

    Psalms 57 thoughts:

David had to escape from attackers and hide in caves.

So, David starts by asking God for help and to get him out of his messed up situation. He pictures God as a mother bird protecting her babies from storms and rain with her wings. David’s pretty sure that God will keep him safe because of the promises made to him. Even though his enemies are attacking him like wild animals, throwing weapons and hurling insults, David knows that God’s got his back. He’s like, “The whole world needs to hear about how awesome God is!”.

Because David has such strong faith, he’s sure that his enemies will only end up hurting themselves. He promises to praise. David talks about God’s “steadfast love” and how God is loyal and merciful to His chosen people. It ends by repeating, saying that God’s praises should be heard all over the world. Rest in Him.

  • Devo – Luke 5

    July 15th, 2023

    Morning reading Luke 5:

Luke 5 kicks off by comparing the early lives of Jesus and John the Baptist and talking about Jesus’ qualifications for ministry. Then, Luke dives into Jesus’ Galilean Ministry, where he’s busy kicking out demons, healing people, and teaching. He also shows how some folks aren’t too thrilled about Jesus’ actions.

Now, Luke doesn’t follow a strict timeline in his Gospel, but he focuses on specific themes. He gives examples of Jesus’ authority and then tells us about how Jesus handpicks His first bunch of disciples, like Peter, Andrew, James, and John. These guys witness some amazing miracles and decide to follow Jesus.

Luke also tells us about the healing of a leper and a paralyzed man. In both cases, Jesus does something incredible and shows off His power. He even calls Levi, a tax collector, to join His crew, which gets some religious folks all riled up.

Luke highlights Jesus’ willingness to hang out with sinners and takes a jab at the religious leaders’ strict adherence to the law. He emphasizes that Jesus’ message is about grace, forgiveness, and repentance, not all those rules and regulations.

Later on, Luke tackles the topic of the Sabbath and how Jesus challenges conventional thinking. He wraps up by showing the crowd what it means to be a true disciple and invites them, and us, to build our lives around Jesus.

Biggest area that jumped out for me was the healing of leprosy. I think about how God washes away all our sins too to make us clean. The fact he begged Jesus is humbling (in NKJ it says “implored”). Do we beg or implore Him to forgive us? We should.

  • Devo – James 3

    July 15th, 2023

Evening reading – thoughts on James 3:

Chapter 3 is all about words and wisdom. Basically, it tells us that when we can’t control our words and buy into worldly wisdom, things go downhill real fast. But if we trust in God, we know that human talk and fancy ideas won’t lead us to a faithful life.

First, James goes off about how powerful the tongue is. He’s like, “Listen up, folks! The tongue is a force to be reckoned with, and we can’t fully control it.” He says that if someone could control their speech all the time, it means they’ve got their whole life under control. Yeah, the tongue may be small, but it’s like the bit in a horse’s mouth, the rudder on a ship, or the spark that starts a forest fire. James really hammers on the forest fire analogy. He calls the tongue a fire that sets our whole life on fire and gets fueled by hell. He describes it as a restless troublemaker, filled with poison.

James is adamant that we can’t tame the tongue. As flawed human beings, we’re hopeless when it comes to controlling our words. It’s just plain weird and sinful to bless and curse using the same mouth. It’s like having saltwater and freshwater coming from the same spring or olive trees producing figs. But you know what? Sinful humans do that all the time.

Then James shifts gears and talks about wisdom. He insists that wisdom is shown through actions. He’s basically saying that your actions speak louder than your words, just like he mentioned in the previous chapter. According to James, wise people live humble lives and do good things. He agrees with Solomon from Proverbs that wisdom always comes with humility.

But here’s the thing: the wisdom of the world is totally different. Instead of being humble, worldly wisdom makes it all about yourself. It tells you to look at what others have, feel jealous, and make a plan to get it for yourself. The world thinks success is all about getting what you want in life.

James calls out this false perspective. He says it leads to all the chaos and evil we see in the world. But heavenly wisdom is a whole other story. When we trust God to provide what we need, we can let go of envy and selfish ambition. We can live peaceful, kind, and reasonable lives. We can sow seeds of peace and reap righteousness.

We need to rely on God for everything including controlling the flesh or tongue.

James 3:13-18 stood out to me in this chapter. Christians need to know the difference between spiritual wisdom and worldly wisdom. Some people are really good at scheming and using circumstances to get what they want, but their actions are often driven by jealousy, selfishness, and dishonesty. That’s worldly wisdom, and it doesn’t come from God. Instead, it’s from Satan and leads to doing the wrong thing. But spiritual wisdom is all about being humble and doing what’s right.

And hey, those who follow spiritual wisdom always think about others’ well-being before their own. They’re totally honest and never try to deceive anyone. It’s like being a farmer who plants good seeds and gets a great harvest. In the same way, Christians who build good relationships and promote peace can expect to see goodness and righteousness in their own lives.

Hope this helps someone reading it.

  • Devo – Psalms 56

    July 15th, 2023

    You may need this too.

Psalms: 56 is about trusting in the Lord despite danger and praising God for His care.

In the beginning of it, David prays for deliverance from his enemies who constantly threaten him. But despite that, he decides to trust in the Lord. David asks a rhetorical question, highlighting the insignificance of earthly men compared to God’s power.

David’s enemies treat him with hatred and malice, driving him into the wilderness. However, he firmly believes that God is aware of his struggles and even values his suffering, symbolically saving all his tears. This underscores the biblical teaching that suffering has a purpose, as God sees and will ultimately account for everything. With this assurance, David once again puts his trust in the Lord and praises Him.

The psalm concludes with David’s commitment to publicly thank God for His deliverance. David speaks of rescue as if it has already happened, expressing his faith and confidence that he will once again praise the Lord in safety.

Thank you, need to lean on this today.

  • Devo – James 2

    July 15th, 2023

    Morning reading James 2:

James 2 is basically saying that if we truly believe in God, it should show in how we live our lives. He talks about the importance of doing good things and how our actions and thoughts reflect our faith. Basically, just saying you believe in God doesn’t cut it if you don’t actually do anything to back it up. It’s not about doing good things to earn salvation, but rather showing that we truly trust in God through our actions.

So, what does this look like in our daily lives? Well, James starts off by telling us to live out God’s Word. He uses the example of looking in a mirror and forgetting what we look like right after. He’s saying that it’s ridiculous to hear God’s Word but not actually do anything about it. In the next chapter, he tackles the issue of favoritism, especially towards rich people. James is like, “Why are you treating the rich folks better than the poor ones? That’s not cool and definitely not in line with our faith in Jesus.”

He tells a story about a rich-looking guy and a poor-looking guy coming to a Christian gathering. He’s like, “Why should the rich dude get VIP treatment while the poor guy gets the short end of the stick?” That might be how things work in the world, but James is adamant that it shouldn’t be like that in the church. He’s saying that instead of hoping to gain favor and protection from the rich, we should trust God to provide and take care of us. After all, it’s the rich people who are often causing trouble for the poor.

In fact, James straight-up says that showing favoritism to the rich is a sin. It goes against the command to love our neighbors as ourselves. Treating the rich better just because they have money is as bad as breaking other moral laws like murder or adultery. We all need God’s mercy, so we should be merciful to everyone.

Then James goes on to say that it’s not enough to just believe in God. He questions the value of a faith that’s all in our heads but doesn’t lead to any good actions. He gives an example of someone who’s in need, and instead of actually helping them, you just say, “Good luck, stay warm, and eat well!” That’s not enough. Our beliefs should impact how we act. Our actions prove whether our beliefs are genuine or not.

James is saying that true faith results in good works, while Paul in other areas of the Bible emphasizes that we can’t earn salvation through our own efforts. They’re actually saying the same thing from different angles. James gives examples from the Old Testament like Abraham and Rahab to show that their faith was proven by their actions.

To sum it up, James is saying that if our faith doesn’t show in how we live and what we do, then it’s pretty much dead. It’s not enough to just say we believe in God; our actions need to back it up.

  • Devo – Luke 4

    July 15th, 2023

    Pm reading thoughts Luke 4:

Before Jesus starts His public preaching and healing ministry, He goes alone into the wilderness near Judea. He spends forty days fasting, which is almost as long as a human body can go without food. The Holy Spirit drives this experience, but it also includes some tempting from Satan. Satan tries to lure Jesus in different ways, all of which involve turning away from God’s plan and seeking an easier path. In one instance, Satan even quotes Scripture but twists its meaning. However, Jesus resists these temptations, remains obedient to God, and counters with quotes from the book of Deuteronomy. After failing to succeed, Satan leaves Jesus and goes elsewhere (Luke 4:1–13).

After facing temptation and hunger, Jesus returns to Galilee, an area near the Sea of Galilee and north of Jerusalem. There, He teaches in synagogues and receives a great response. However, not everyone in Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown, accepts His message. When He visits there, Jesus reads from the book of Isaiah, which prophesies that the Messiah will bring rescue, healing, and good news. But when Jesus claims to fulfill this prophecy, His former neighbors doubt Him, thinking of Him as just another Nazarene who can’t be anything special (Luke 4:14–22).

Jesus knows where this skepticism will lead. People who have witnessed His miracles often demand more supernatural signs when He teaches. But these demands are insincere; those who don’t accept the evidence they’ve already seen won’t likely respond to more signs. Jesus predicts that the people want Him to perform the same miracles He has done elsewhere. However, Jesus criticizes their stubbornness and reminds them that sometimes God chooses to perform miracles for Gentiles—non-Jewish people—rather than Israel (Luke 4:23–27).

At the time Jesus says these things, Israel is upset about being under Roman rule. The Jewish people are resentful of their conquerors. When Jesus suggests that God is willing to reach out to Gentiles, the Nazarenes react angrily. They kick Jesus out of the synagogue and take Him to a nearby cliff with the intention of harming Him. But Jesus miraculously escapes from the crowd unharmed. He manages to do this at other times in His ministry too (Luke 4:28–30)

At some point in the early days of Jesus’ ministry, He encounters a man possessed by a demon in a synagogue. The demon recognizes Jesus as the Son of God and is scared. Jesus commands the demon to leave, and it immediately obeys. The people are already amazed by Jesus’ authoritative words, but witnessing His divine power adds even more excitement to His ministry (Luke 4:31–37).

After leaving the synagogue, Jesus goes to Simon Peter’s house (also called Simon), who would later become one of His disciples. Peter’s mother-in-law is seriously ill and bedridden. Luke, who knows a thing or two about medicine, describes her fever as intense. Just as Jesus had power over demons, He commands the illness to leave, and she is immediately healed. She gets up and starts attending to her hosting duties right away. Since this happens on the Sabbath, people wait until sundown—the start of the next day—to bring the sick and afflicted to Jesus. While Jesus heals them, He instructs the demons not to reveal His identity as the Christ (Luke 4:38–41).

Jesus, being fully human, needs rest and refreshment from time to time. But when He tries to take a break from His ministry, the people living near Simon Peter follow Him. Healing and preaching are good things, but God’s plans for Jesus involve much more than one small area. Jesus understands the importance of choosing what’s “best” over what’s merely “good.” He plans to travel around the region, so He kindly refuses to stay in one place for too long (Luke 4:42–44).

The thing that I noticed most in this chapter, is that we witness Jesus confronting those three temptations, marking the start of his “Galilean Ministry.” We also see how he faces rejection in Nazareth, while receiving great acclaim in the neighboring town of Capernaum.

The part that jumps out to me just before Jesus embarks on his kingship, Satan tries to tempt him into turning away from his allegiance to God. Jesus goes to the wilderness, where he fasts for forty days (Luke 4:2). He faces the same temptations that the people of Israel encountered in the Sinai wilderness. Interestingly, Jesus responds to Satan’s temptations by quoting passages from Deuteronomy 6-8, which recount Israel’s journey in the wilderness. Let’s take a look at these temptations:

First, Satan tempts Jesus to rely on his own power to fulfill his needs instead of trusting in God’s provision (Luke 4:1-3). Satan says, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become a loaf of bread” (Luke 4:3).

Second, Satan offers Jesus a shortcut to power and glory, trying to lure him away from his allegiance to God (Luke 4:5-8). Satan says, “If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

Lastly, Satan tempts Jesus to doubt God’s presence and try to force God’s hand in a desperate act (Luke 4:9-12). Satan suggests, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from the temple.”

Unlike Israel, Jesus resists these temptations by relying on God’s word. He exemplifies the person that the people of Israel, as well as Adam and Eve, were intended to be but never became. So cool.

  • Devo – Psalms 49, 55 and 129

    July 15th, 2023

Psalms 40, 55, and 129 – Hope some of this brings you comfort and strength.

    40

David went through many dangerous situations in his life, facing threats from people who wanted to kill him. But every time, he prayed to God and was saved. Sometimes, the danger was so intense that David felt trapped, like being stuck in a slimy pit with no way out. He describes how God rescued him from that hopeless situation in a poetic way, leading to praise and setting an example for others. I see this happening in my life with current situations being an example to our family and friends of what God’s redemption power looks like. Oh boy, it’s difficult and will take more hard work than I have ever done in my life and CAN NOT happen without God but so worth it!

David praises God for showing countless acts of mercy to His people, too many to even count.

To me, it explains how God’s plan for humanity involved the obedient sacrifice of Jesus. David recognizes that God desires obedience above all else and acknowledges that God created him with the ability to hear and obey. In response, David plans to follow God’s will as revealed in His word.

After celebrating what God has done, David looks ahead to what God will do. Part of that includes forgiving David’s sins. Despite his accomplishments, David knows he still needs God’s mercy. His prayer also asks God to keep rescuing him from his enemies. He wants those who mock and hate him to be ashamed and defeated. With a humble attitude, David praises God in advance for His response and celebrates the joy that all believers should experience. What a great example of a man.

55: At the beginning, David prays for help and describes how terrified he is of his enemies. He even wishes he could grow wings and fly far away from danger. The people who are attacking him are powerful and loud, like a raging storm. I definitely feel like this at times. I feel like Satan has attacked me for years.

While asking for rescue, David also asks God to judge his enemies. He talks about the chaos and wickedness they have brought upon Jerusalem. He believes that these opponents are all about lies and brutality. What’s worse, one of his former allies has turned against him. David wants God to swiftly bring justice upon these enemies. In a similar way, I want Satan to lose his battle like David.

David prays with great confidence for God’s judgment to fall upon his attackers. He’s sure that the Lord will save him from defeat. When we need Him, He is there to walk with us to victory and Satan will be defeated.

David concludes the psalm by calling on everyone to put their complete trust in the Lord God. He knows from his own experience that serving God faithfully doesn’t mean life will be easy, but he also recognizes that the Lord sees the bigger picture. Amen! What is noble is difficult!

    129:

These verses don’t seem to seek God’s salvation or express gratitude for an improved situation. Instead, they highlight the fleeting nature of the people’s existence in exile.

It compares the people to grass on a rooftop that quickly withers away. This image represents the poverty and landlessness of the people, who are forced to grow crops on their rooftops, yielding such meager harvests that there’s almost nothing to gather. This situation stands in stark contrast to the abundant blessings of agriculture in Israel. I think the intention or at least my thought is to convey the harsh reality of exile. (Separation from God) Another words, a life without Jesus is difficult and doesn’t yield but life with him you have the blessings. This confirms to me my renewed vow to my wife and Jesus for the remainder of my days!

  • Devo – Luke 3

    July 15th, 2023

    Am reading Luke 3:

Luke starts off by giving some background information about what’s going on. He mentions some important historical and religious figures to give us a sense of when these events took place. It’s interesting because while these powerful men are in charge, God chooses to speak to this weird guy living in the wilderness instead. This shows that God often works through unlikely people.

John the Baptist’s message aligns with what was prophesied in the Old Testament. Centuries before John, prophets like Malachi and Isaiah talked about someone who would prepare the way for the Messiah. Luke uses these references to show that John is fulfilling those promises.

John is pretty bold in his preaching style, probably because he’s dealing with some hypocritical religious leaders. He even warns them about judgment and uses strong imagery to get his point across.

People who hear John’s message start asking him how they should live. He gives different advice to different groups, urging them to live in a way that matches their claims of repentance. He talks about selflessness, honesty, and integrity.

Because of his preaching style, some people start to wonder if John is the Messiah, but he quickly corrects them and says he’s just a messenger. He sees himself as unworthy compared to the Messiah. John’s preaching makes him popular, but it also gets him into trouble, like when he criticizes Herod’s marriage and ends up in jail.

Luke doesn’t give a lot of detail about Jesus’ baptism, but he mentions that it happened and there was some kind of divine approval. Think this stood out the most. V21 He humbles Himself in His humanity to get baptized. How cool with the audible voice of God.

Luke traces Jesus’ family tree all the way back to Adam to emphasize that the gospel is for everyone, not just a select group of people.

Luke’s gospel switches back and forth between the stories of Jesus and John the Baptist. The genealogy at the end of chapter 3 marks a transition, and from now on, Luke will mainly focus on Jesus.

  • Devo – James 1

    July 15th, 2023

    PM reading James 1 thoughts:

In James 1, there’s a discussion about “humble circumstances,” advising those in that social position to take pride in their high position. James also warns the rich to prioritize true faith over material possessions.

A key piece of advice I found in James 1, are in verses 19-20, which emphasizes the importance of being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. This advice holds particular relevance when I think of social media, which often encourages hasty responses contradicting this wisdom and quickly posting segments of videos, articles and responses, many times out of context to fit a desired agenda.

Verse 21 adds another aspect to consider in our lives: removing moral “filth” and accepting the word planted within us humbly, as it can save us.

Lastly, it’s crucial to recognize the significance of caring for both others and ourselves (community), as emphasized in the final verses, such as James 1:27.

  • Devo – Luke 2

    July 15th, 2023

    Luke 2 Thoughts:

Luke tells us how Jesus’ birth is connected to historical events. Emperor Augustus and Governor Quirinius play a role in the story, but the details raise some questions to me. It’s possible that the census was announced before Jesus’ birth but carried out during Quirinius’ time. Not sure on that. The purpose of the census was to calculate taxes and military resources, so Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem.

Considering the circumstances of Mary’s pregnancy, it would have been unusual for an unmarried couple to travel together. However, they made the decision for Mary to be with Joseph during the birth. This fulfilled prophecy as Mary ended up in Bethlehem. They weren’t turned away from lodging; rather, there was no suitable place for them to give birth in their arranged accommodation. Mary’s use of a feeding trough as a resting place for Jesus reflects His humble beginnings but doesn’t mean they were neglected I believe.

Throughout history, God has shown that human effort and prestige mean nothing without Him at the center. He often chooses seemingly unimportant people to achieve great things. The first witnesses of Jesus’ birth were ordinary shepherds who were visited by angels. The angels guided them to find the newborn King, though they weren’t commanded to do so.

After the angels departed, the shepherds visited Jesus and shared their experience. It’s worth noting that nativity scenes often include animals and wise men but it doesn’t mention their presence during Jesus’ birth. The wise men likely came later and to a different location I am thinking. Mary treasured all these events and pondered their significance.

Mary and Joseph followed the traditional laws of the Old Testament in raising Jesus. They circumcised Him and all the things.

Luke emphasizes Jesus’ full humanity, including His upbringing in Nazareth, which was not highly regarded. Jesus had a relatively normal childhood there. He participated in required feasts such as the Passover. There is a misconception that He neglected His parents during one Passover, but He was discovered in the temple after three days, amazing people with His wisdom. Mary expressed her concern, and Jesus referred to the temple as His Father’s house, showing His awareness of His divine nature as the Son of God.

Luke highlights Jesus’ complete humanity, which I thought stood out.

Hope this all made sense as I unpacked it for myself.

  • Devo – Luke 1

    July 15th, 2023

    My thoughts…

In this chapter, some incredible things happen! First, Zachariah can’t speak anymore, Elizabeth gets pregnant even though she’s really old, and Mary, who’s a virgin, becomes pregnant with the Son of God. It’s like a triple miracle! There are also these prophecies from the Lord given through Elizabeth, Mary, and Zachariah, which are meant to prepare everyone for the coming of the Son of God and the salvation He brings.

So, in Luke 1:5-25, we learn about this couple, Zachariah and Elizabeth. They’re good people, but they’re old and don’t have any kids. While Zachariah is doing his priest duties at the temple, an angel named Gabriel shows up and tells him that he and Elizabeth will have a son named John. But here’s the crazy part: Zachariah can’t talk until the baby is born, just to prove that God really spoke to him.

Then, in Luke 1:26-40, Gabriel visits Mary, who is Elizabeth’s cousin. He tells Mary that she’s been chosen by God to have a special baby, the Son of God. The Bible makes it clear that Mary is favored by God and a really good person. After Mary gets pregnant, she goes to visit Elizabeth, and something amazing happens when they meet. Elizabeth is filled with the Holy Spirit and tells everyone that Mary’s baby isn’t just any ordinary baby, but God Himself!

In Luke 1:46-56, Mary starts saying some really deep and meaningful things about people who truly worship and respect God. It’s like a prophecy about what’s to come. Then, in Luke 1:57-80, Elizabeth has her baby, and Zachariah can suddenly talk again! He starts telling everyone about his son John and how important he is. John will be a prophet of the Lord, preparing people for the arrival of the Son of God and bringing peace to everyone.

So yeah, it’s a pretty amazing chapter with lots of miracles, prophecies, and the birth of some very special babies!

  • Devo – Revelations 4

    July 15th, 2023

Revelations 4 sets the stage for the rest of Revelation. It’s a transition from describing past and present events to what will happen in the future.

In this chapter, John hears the trumpet-like voice of Jesus again, calling him to come “up here,” which seems to mean heaven. He’s shown future events that will unfold (Revelation 4:1–2).

John then sees a vision “in the Spirit.” There are twenty-four thrones with elders dressed in white surrounding God’s throne. These elders might represent the tribes of Israel and the apostles. The description of the throne includes gemstones with symbolic meanings. There’s also a sea of glass and four incredible creatures (Revelation 4:3–6).

These creatures are like animals, and some say per my reading on it that they symbolize Jesus in the four Gospels. They constantly praise God, leading the twenty-four elders to worship by casting down their crowns (Revelation 4:7–11).

  • Poem – Eleventh Day

    July 15th, 2023

In shadows deep, day eleven arrived,
A solemn path, my heart contrived.
Separated from wife and family dear,
Within my soul, a longing severe.

As I pondered on this trial’s might,
My thoughts took flight, seeking a guiding light.
In Psalms 11, solace I found,
Words of wisdom, my spirit unwound.

“The Lord is in His holy temple,” it said,
His watchful eyes upon us are spread.
Though trials surround us, fears may arise,
    His steadfast presence never denies.

Like a refuge, His arms open wide,
In His embrace, I find solace inside.
He tests the righteous, His gaze discerns,
A balm of strength, my weary heart yearns.

    Day eleven, a reminder profound,
That in faith, blessings can be found.
For in His timing, reunion will bloom,
Embracing loved ones, dispelling the gloom.

So let us trust, though we’re apart,
Love’s sacred bond shall never depart.
With hope as my anchor, faith as my guide,
    Day eleven, shall not divide.

    In this separation’s tempestuous sea,
I find solace, knowing the Lord’s with me.
Day eleven, a chapter in this tale,
Where love endures, and prayers prevail.

  • Poem – Love Baby

    July 14th, 2023

In First Corinthians, chapter thirteen’s embrace,
We find a passage, love’s sacred space.
Known as the “Love Chapter,” it shines bright,
Revealing the depths of love’s pure light.

Love is patient, a virtue so rare,
    A steadfast presence, always there.
It waits with grace, in calm repose,
Enduring trials that life may impose.

Love is kind, with a gentle touch,
    Extending compassion, never too much.
It offers a smile, a comforting word,
In every action, its kindness is heard.

Love does not envy, nor does it boast,
    It nurtures humility, never engrossed.
It celebrates others’ joys with glee,
And finds contentment in what’s to be.

Love is not easily angered or provoked,
It holds no grudges, resentment revoked.
With understanding and a forgiving heart,
It chooses peace, refusing to part.

Love rejoices in truth, in righteousness it thrives,
    Embracing honesty, where integrity survives.
It stands against falsehood, deception, and lies,
And seeks the path where integrity lies.

Love bears all things, in its gentle care,
    Shouldering burdens, willingly to share.
It supports, it uplifts, it lends a hand,
    Encouraging others to firmly stand.

Love believes and hopes, never to cease,
Even when darkness obscures the peace.
It trusts in the good, in the power of light,
Guided by hope, shining through the night.

Love never fails, it withstands the test,
Through every trial, it stands the best.
For love is eternal, a divine decree,
A timeless bond, for all to see.

So let faith, hope, and love unite,
In the depths of our souls, shining bright.
But the greatest of these, with a resounding call,
Is love, the essence that encompasses all.

  • Poem – Godly Husband Needed

    July 14th, 2023

In my reflection, I see the truth laid bare,
Not only as a parent, but as a husband, I err.
I failed to be the godly partner that I should,
But with Jesus’ grace, I’ll strive to be understood.

I should have been a pillar, strong and true,
A loving and faithful husband, just like you.
But amidst my shortcomings, I now confess,
Seeking forgiveness and aiming to progress.

In the shadows of my past, I find remorse,
For moments missed, and a lack of godly course.
But with Jesus as our guide, there’s hope anew,
To rebuild our bond, in love that’s pure and true.

I’ll cherish my spouse with a humble heart,
Honoring and valuing her, playing my part.
Through selflessness and kindness, I’ll strive to be,
The godly husband that she deserves from me.

In prayer and devotion, I’ll seek divine wisdom,
To nurture our love and create a heavenly kingdom.
With open communication and forgiveness’s embrace,
We’ll walk together, sustained by God’s grace.

I’ll cherish her dreams, supporting her with care,
Creating a haven where burdens we can share.
Through understanding and patience, I’ll endeavor,
To be the godly husband, faithful forever.

Though I stumble and falter, I won’t give in,
With Jesus’ love, I’ll overcome and begin.
To be a beacon of love, a steadfast guide,
Walking hand in hand, with Him at our side.

So let our union be a testament profound,
Of redemption, forgiveness, where grace abounds.
For with Jesus as our anchor, our love shall transcend,
And as a godly husband, I’ll seek to the end.

  • Poem – Tenth Day

    July 14th, 2023

In solitude’s embrace, I stand apart,
The 10th day, an ache within my heart.
Separated from my love, my cherished wife,
Yearning for her presence, this tender strife.

As I reflect upon the Psalms so wise,
Psalm 10 whispers, lifting my weary eyes.
It speaks of those who boast and thrive in wrong,
The wicked, proud, who darkness does prolong.

Like verses written in the ancient tome,
My days without her echo and bemoan.
But in these words, I find solace and light,
A beacon to guide me through the darkest night.

Though distance separates, our souls entwined,
Bound by love’s unyielding tie, refined.
With faith as my shield, I’ll persevere,
Knowing that love’s flame burns ever near.

Like the psalmist’s plea for justice and grace,
I seek strength and hope in this lonely space.
I trust that soon our paths will intertwine,
Reuniting hearts that long to intertwine.

So, on this 10th day of longing’s quest,
I turn to Psalms and let my soul find rest.
For love endures, transcending time and space,
Uniting us once more in sweet embrace.

  • Poem – Praise God In Trials

    July 14th, 2023

In trials and troubles, when life seems unclear,
It’s vital to remember, in faith persevere.
Amidst the chaos, let your spirit ascend,
And praise God’s grace, for it will transcend.

When shadows surround you, casting their doubt,
Raise your hands high, let it resound devout.
A solace, a balm for the soul,
A reminder that God’s love will make you whole.

When burdens weigh heavy, and hope starts to fade,
Seek refuge in prayer, where strength is conveyed.
Embrace every challenge as a chance to grow,
And with humble praises, let your faith show.

For trials are tests that shape who we become,
And through them, God’s blessings are often won.
So lift up your voice, let gratitude rise,
And see how His grace upon you multiplies.

In moments of anguish, when tears freely flow,
Praise God’s boundless mercy, let it overflow.
For He is the anchor that steadies your course,
Guiding you through trials with unwavering force.

In the trials of life, storms come and go,
But praising God’s name will help your spirit glow.
Remember His promise, through thick and through thin,
That in His embrace, eternal joy will begin.

So, in times of hardship, let your worship ring,
For in God’s presence, hope and healing spring.
In every trial faced, remember this truth,
Praising Him is a testament to enduring faith’s youth.

  • Poem – Ninth Day

    July 13th, 2023

On the ninth day of separation, my heart feels the ache,
Yearning for your presence, for love’s sweet embrace.
But in this void, I turn to Psalms, chapter nine,
Seeking solace and strength, a sacred lifeline.

Psalm Nine, a refuge for my soul’s weary plight,
A hymn of praise and deliverance, shining bright.
In verses and stanzas, I find solace and peace,
As the words of David’s psalm, my turmoil release.

In the ninth day of separation, I find solace in prayer,
Communing with the divine, casting away despair.
I pour out my heart, my hopes, and my fears,
Trusting that God’s presence will dry every tear.

For in this sacred passage, I discover great hope,
A reminder of God’s faithfulness, an endless scope.
Though the days may feel long, and distance prevails,
I find comfort in Psalms, as faith never fails.

With each verse, I’m reminded of love’s enduring flame,
A bond that transcends the physical, beyond any claim.
On this ninth day of separation, I lift my praise voice,
Drawing strength from Psalms, knowing love’s choice.

So, I hold onto faith, as the days pass by,
With Psalms nine as my anchor, I reach for the sky.
In the embrace of prayer, we’ll soon be as one,
On this ninth day of separation, till the reunion is done.

As husband and wife, we embark on a race,
A pursuit of God’s love, at a relentless pace.
Hand in hand, we sprint through life’s stride,
Together we chase the divine, side by side.

Igniting our hearts, fueled by a sacred aim.
Through trials and joys, we push on in stride,

In marriage’s race, we spur one another,
Encouraging strides, lifting each other higher.
As teammates and lovers, we share the load,
Inspiring faith and devotion, on this sacred road.

In moments of weakness, we lend a helping hand,
Supporting and uplifting, united we stand.
Through fervent prayers and whispered pleas,
We race towards God, with love as our keys.

With passion and purpose, we sprint as one,
Knowing that together, the race can be won.
With God as our compass, our hearts aligned,
We race towards eternity, forever entwined.

So hand in hand, we run this heavenly track,
Chasing God’s presence, and never looking back.
As husband and wife, united in our quest,
We race to God together, eternally blessed.

  • Poem – Purity’s Voice

    July 13th, 2023

    Oh where shadows intertwine,
A poem unfolds, revealing the divine,
About sexual sin and pride’s cruel grip,
And how Jesus helps us through this trip.

Sexual sin, a snare that ensnares,
Leaving hearts wounded, burdened with cares,
But Jesus, our Savior, offers a way,
To overcome temptation, day by day.

With humility as our guiding light,
We lay down our pride, surrender the fight,
For in our weakness, His strength is revealed,
In His grace and mercy, we are healed.

In the depths of our struggle, He draws near,
Wiping away every regret and tear,
His love, like a beacon, guides our way,
Leading us to purity, day by day.

He forgives our failures, sets us free,
Restoring our hearts, like the vastest sea,
Through His sacrifice, our sins are erased,
In His embrace, we find solace and grace.

With Jesus as our compass, we navigate,
Through the challenges, doubts, and the weight,
He walks with us, every step of the road,
Urging us onward, to lighten our load.

In prayer, we find strength to resist,
The temptations that persist and persist,
His Spirit within us, a guiding force,
Helps us to choose righteousness, stay on course.

We cast off the shackles of guilt and shame,
Embracing His mercy, in Jesus’ name,
For He is the source of our purity,
Renewing our hearts with divine clarity.

So let us surrender, hand Him control,
Trusting His grace to restore our soul,
Through repentance, we find a fresh start,
And with Jesus, we’re made pure at heart.

With His love as our anchor, we rise above,
Overcoming sexual sin and pride’s cruel shove,
Step by step, in His light we remain,
Walking toward purity, free from stain.

For Jesus, our Savior, redeems and restores,
He guides us gently to righteous shores,
In Him, we find strength to overcome,
With Jesus, our purity is won.

  • Poem – The Struggle Is Real

    July 13th, 2023

    Where hearts do dwell,
A tale of struggle I shall tell,
Of men and women, souls sincere,
    Seeking Jesus, ever near.

Through trials deep and burdens sore,
They strive to find Him, to adore,
For in their hearts, a hunger burns,
A longing for the One who yearns.

Men, with courage, strong and bold,
    Navigate life’s paths untold,
Yet in their strength, a void resides,
A thirst for truth that never subsides.

They wrestle with their inner strife,
Seeking solace in their daily life,
    Yearning for the Savior’s embrace,
To fill the void, to find their place.

    Women, gentle, grace defined,
    Through nurturing souls, they shine,
But in their tenderness, a longing stirs,
A hunger that only Christ confers.

They juggle roles with utmost care,
Yet still, they seek His love to share,
To find completeness, whole and free,
    In Jesus’ arms eternally.

Both men and women, side by side,
Walk this earth, their spirits tried,
They face the struggles, doubts, and fears,
Yet hope in Christ, through all their years.

For Jesus, He understands their plight,
The battles fought both day and night,
    He offers solace, love divine,
To fill the void, their souls align.

    In every moment, they endeavor,
To know His presence, truly treasure,
They pray and seek, with hearts aflame,
To be filled with Jesus’ holy name.

Through brokenness and tears they weep,
In the silence, His promises they keep,
For Jesus fills their every need,
Their souls sustained, His truth decreed.

So, men and women, young and old,
    In every struggle, story untold,
Find solace, strength, and peace anew,
In Jesus Christ, who loves you true.

  • Poem – Trust My Heart

    July 13th, 2023

In a world of doubt and disbelief,
Where hearts are judged and labeled brief,
I stand here, my soul laid bare,
Yearning for trust, a burden to bear.

    Once, innocence adorned my core,
But time has passed, and I’ve grown more,
Yet eyes that see me still perceive,
A specter of doubt, and don’t believe.

Oh, how frustrating, this silent fight,
To prove my worth, with all my might,
For I have changed, like seasons turn,
But doubting hearts refuse to learn.

My intentions true, my spirit evolved,
    Yet old perceptions remain unsolved,
Like a river’s flow against the tide,
I strive for trust, as doubts collide.

But in my heart, a flame shall burn,
A testament to the lessons I’ve learned,
For though they doubt, my resolve is strong,
In the face of mistrust, I’ll carry on.

So let them judge, let them deny,
I’ll reach for truth, aiming high,
For within me beats a heart anew,
Changed and steadfast, pure and true.

And if one day their doubts subside,
And they see the changes deep inside,
I’ll embrace their trust, with open arms,
And prove that hearts can break old charms.

  • Poem – Beautiful in the Pain

    July 13th, 2023

    In pain’s relentless sway,
A glimmer of truth lights my weary way.
For in this struggle, I begin to see,
God’s beauty shining through the agony.

Though tears may fall and darkness may descend,
His presence lingers, a faithful friend.
Through every trial and tempest’s blast,
His grace sustains me, holding me fast.

In every whispered prayer, every silent plea,
I witness His hand, guiding me gently.
    Through brokenness, His mercy unfolds,
Revealing a love that cannot be controlled.

For in the depths of sorrow’s grip,
I glimpse His glory, I feel His grip.
In the fiercest storm, His peace prevails,
And His radiant light never fails.

In the blooming flower, in the bird’s sweet song,
In the embrace of loved ones, I see Him strong.
His beauty weaves through life’s every part,
Even amidst the anguish of a wounded heart.

So, as pain courses through my veins,
I’ll search for God’s beauty that never wanes.
In the tapestry of life’s intricate design,
His love and splendor will forever shine.

  • Poem – Kick The Devil In His Arse

    July 12th, 2023

In self-reliance, I once did dwell,
Chasing desires, unaware of where they fell.
But a whisper, a call, reached deep within,
It was time to turn around, to shed that worldly skin.

So I embarked on a journey, a path anew,
To reconnect with God, to rediscover what is true.
No longer enslaved by selfish ambitions’ snare,
I set my sights on love, compassion, and care.

Oh, the devil, that cunning deceiver of old,
With his twisted lies and stories untold.
But armed with God’s truth, I stood tall and bold,
Ready to give that tempter a kick, so he’d be controlled.

I cast away the chains of self-serving ways,
Embracing the call to brighten others’ days.
For in serving, in giving, true joy is found,
A harmony of hearts, a symphony resound.

No longer blinded by the world’s empty plea,
I turned my gaze to God, His love setting me free.
With every step, His grace became my guide,
In His loving embrace, I chose to abide.

So let us ditch self-reliance, that empty pursuit,
And return to God, who makes all things astute.
With hearts ablaze, let’s care for one another,
And give the devil a kick, standing firm in God’s truth, brother and sister.

  • Poem – Say It

    July 12th, 2023

    In life, where stories intertwine,
There lies a crucial truth, an art so divine,
To weave boundaries gently into our design,
For it’s okay to say it, to draw a sacred line.

In the vast expanse of existence, where time races by,
We’re often pulled in every direction, we wonder why,
But within our hearts, a flicker of self-care does lie,
Yearning to be acknowledged, to soar and to fly.

Boundaries are the pillars that uphold our being,
They grant us liberation, the freedom of foreseeing,
The power to protect our hearts, our souls, our well-being,
To choose what serves us, what sets our spirits gleaming.

For saying it is not a declaration of disdain,
But an act of self-love, where healing can reign,
It’s a proclamation of worth, a gentle refrain,
A symphony of empowerment, that echoes again.

    In relationships, where connections thrive,
Boundaries form the canvas on which love can arrive,
With open communication, respect can survive,
A dance of understanding, where souls can truly thrive.

    In work, where ambitions collide,
Boundaries carve the space where our dreams can reside,
To protect our passions, our sanity, side by side,
Embracing balance and purpose, our aspirations guide.

In the labyrinth of expectations, where burdens weigh,
Boundaries offer respite, a sanctuary to sway,
They grant us the courage to gracefully convey,
That we’re human, imperfect, and need time to play.

During self-discovery, where growth is our muse,
Boundaries guide our journey, never to abuse,
They nurture our authenticity, our essence they infuse,
Allowing us to flourish, to radiantly amuse.

Setting boundaries is a courageous art to embrace,
A symphony of self-compassion, woven with grace,
It may elicit discomfort, challenge the familiar space,
But it paves the way for a life of purpose and grace.

So let us honor ourselves, in every sacred stride,
Embrace the strength within, let it be our guide,
For it’s okay to say it, to carve our path wide,
And with boundaries as allies, our spirits shall abide.

For within life’s ebb and flow, we come to know,
That setting limits is not a sign of weakness or woe,
But a profound act of self-love, where true liberation can grow.

  • Poem – Love Jesus, Then Love Her

    July 12th, 2023

    Where love’s ethereal glow,
Illuminates the path where two hearts grow,
Amidst the tender bond of husband and wife,
A love deepened, enriched by divine life.

As I embrace the teachings of the divine,
My love for Jesus, a radiant sign,
His love, a compass, guiding my soul,
To serve and cherish, making my wife whole.

With Jesus as my guide, my heart’s truest friend,
I’m bestowed with grace that knows no end,
His love within me, a boundless wellspring,
To honor, uplift, and make my wife sing.

For in loving Jesus, I learn to serve,
To nurture, protect, and never swerve,
From the path of devotion, selflessness, and care,
Knowing that love’s burdens, together, we’ll bear.

In tender moments, our spirits entwine,
    A testament to love divine,
Through trials and triumphs, we’ll steadfastly stand,
With Jesus as our anchor, hand in hand.

So let my love for Jesus shine bright,
A beacon guiding our love’s pure light,
For in loving Him, I’ll love my wife true,
    A union blessed, forever renewed.

  • Poem – Fifty-seven

    July 12th, 2023

In this 57th sacred verse, a message profound,
A psalm resonates with meaning unbound.
Amidst adversity and foes that surround,
A plea for mercy and refuge is found.

“Be merciful, O God,” the plea implores,
Beneath the shadow of Your wings, it restores.
In the midst of the storm, faith endures,
Trusting in the Lord, strength ensures.

This truth untold, in trials we hold,
Seeking solace, hearts and souls unfold.
A shelter from the tempest, a love untold,
The sacred design, our lives enfold.

  • Poem – When God Calls You, You Go

    July 11th, 2023

In obedience to God, you find your way,
His wisdom guiding, with every word you say.
For in surrendering, a strength does arise,
A humble devotion that opens the skies.

When God calls you, obedience takes flight,
In trust and surrender, your heart finds its light.
Through trials and challenges, you’ll remain true,
In faithful obedience, His will you pursue.

With steadfast resolve, you’ll walk the path,
Embracing His commands, avoiding any wrath.
For in obedience lies a sacred bond,
A union with God, ever strong and profound.

Though doubts may whisper, and doubts may assail,
You’ll choose obedience, where doubts shall fail.
For His ways are higher, His wisdom supreme,
In obedience, you’ll find the ultimate dream.

So let your actions speak, let your heart obey,
In humble submission, each and every day.
When God calls you, surrender your control,
And let His guidance shape and make you whole.

    In obedience, a symphony unfolds,
As God’s purpose within you securely holds.
For when you follow His divine decree,
You become an instrument of love eternally.

  • Poem – Surrender

    July 11th, 2023

In search of God’s path, I humbly tread,
Seeking guidance true, by His wisdom led.
Teach me, O Lord, the way I should go,
That I may walk in truth, Your love to show.

Grant me the knowledge to discern right from wrong,
To follow Your precepts, to be steadfast and strong.
May Your Word be a lamp unto my feet,
Guiding me gently, in times of defeat.

Direct my heart, Lord, to reverence Your name,
To submit to Your will, to kindle faith’s flame.
For You alone, O God, deserve all praise,
In Your presence, I find solace and grace.

Help me resist the temptations that sway,
To follow Your path, I fervently pray.
Grant me the strength to conquer every strife,
And lead a life that reflects Your love and life.

Teach me, O God, to walk in Your light,
To trust in Your mercy, through day and night.
For in Your embrace, I find peace and rest,
And in Your truth, my spirit is blessed.

So, I surrender my life unto Your care,
With reverence and submission, I offer my prayer.
Teach me, O God, to walk in Your way,
And lead me closer to You, day by day.

  • Poem – Your Tongue

    July 11th, 2023

In the unseen, where words reside,
Lies a power that cannot hide.
The tongue, a weapon, sharp and keen,
With the might to wound or intervene.

With careless whispers, it can maim,
    Leaving scars, inflicting pain.
A careless word, like arrows flung,
Can pierce the heart, where love was sung.

But hark! The tongue can also heal,
Mend shattered souls, make wounds congeal.
A word of kindness, gentle and pure,
Can soothe a heart that’s insecure.

With empathy’s touch, it can uplift,
Offer solace, like a precious gift.
A loving word, a balm bestowed,
Can mend what’s broken, lighten the load.

So let us wield this power with care,
    Choose our words wisely, aware.
For in our tongues lies great might,
To bring darkness or shine with light.

Let words of love be our refrain,
To heal the wounds and ease the pain.
May our tongues be agents of peace,
Spreading joy, causing strife to cease.

For the power of the tongue, my friend,
Can shape the world, beginning to end.
So let us use it with wisdom and grace,
To build, to heal, and embrace.

  • Poem – Thanks James

    July 11th, 2023

In James Chapter Two, a lesson we find,
About faith and works, intricately intertwined.
For James, the message was loud and clear,
Belief without action is nothing to cheer.

He starts by emphasizing the importance of deeds,
Genuine faith in God bears fruits like seeds.
It’s not about works saving us from sin,
But they reveal the trust we have within.

Imagine a gathering, rich and poor in sight,
Should favoritism cast its discriminatory light?
    James challenges this unjust display,
Our faith should treat all with love every day.

No more should the wealthy be put on a throne,
While the poor are left to stand alone.
For trust in God should be our guiding force,
Not seeking favor from the wealthy’s course.

Showing favoritism is a sin, he proclaims,
Breaking the command to love without aims.
We stand in need of mercy, one and all,
Our actions should reflect this truth, big or small.

James argues it’s not enough to say, “I believe,”
Our faith must inspire actions, we must achieve.
He illustrates with an example of care,
Empty words mean nothing if deeds aren’t there.

Some see conflict between James and Paul’s view,
But they both point to faith that rings true.
Paul emphasizes grace, not works alone,
While James shows works as fruit fully grown.

Faith without works is like a body dead,
No breath of life, no spirit to be fed.
Let our faith be alive, vibrant, and real,
With deeds of love, compassion, and zeal.

So, let James’ message sink deep in our hearts,
Faith and works together, each playing its part.
For it’s not enough to simply believe,
Our faith should inspire actions to achieve.

A love story that never grows old.
With every beat of my heart, I know,

Her laughter, a melody so sweet,

  • Poem – New Vow and Promise

    July 10th, 2023

    In love, where souls unite,
A real man emerges, shining so bright.
To his beloved wife, he stands tall and true,
A pillar of strength, devoted through and through.

He cherishes her heart, with tenderness and care,
A love that’s steadfast, beyond compare.
He listens intently to her hopes and dreams,
Supporting her aspirations, as they gleam.

In his arms, she finds solace and peace,
A sanctuary of love that will never cease.
He wipes away her tears, brings laughter and cheer,
For her happiness, he holds so dear.

A real man adores the woman by his side,
Her joys and triumphs, he takes in stride.
He celebrates her essence, her unique grace,
Bringing out the best, in every embrace.

He encourages her growth, her limitless might,

He empowers her spirit, helps her to shine,

With respect and kindness, he treats her each day,
Honoring her value, in every possible way.
He protects her fiercely, her safety his aim,
Shielding her from darkness, igniting her flame.

Through life’s challenges, they face hand in hand,
A real man supports, he helps her withstand.
Together they navigate the journey they tread,
Bound by a love that’s unbreakable, unwed.

So, to the real man who uplifts his wife,
May your love be a testament, shining so bright.
With strength and devotion, you stand as one,
A partnership built on a love that’s second to none.

For in your arms, she finds a love so pure,
A real man to cherish, forever secure.
May your love story flourish, as years go by,
With a bond unbreakable, reaching the sky.

  • Poem – Thanks David

    July 10th, 2023

In Psalms of old, we find solace and praise,
Words that resonate through timeless days.
Let’s journey together, and the verses explore,
The beauty within Psalms 40, 55, and 129, I implore.

Psalm 40, a song of patient trust,
    David’s voice, humble and just.
He waited for the Lord, in depths so deep,
From the miry clay, He lifted him, His promise to keep.

“I waited patiently for the Lord’s hand,
He inclined to me, and helped me stand.
A new song He placed within my soul,
His faithfulness and love, forever extolled.”

In Psalm 55, the poet’s lament we hear,
As sorrow and anguish draw near.
A trusted friend’s betrayal, a wound so deep,
Yet still, the psalmist sought solace to keep.

“O that I had wings like a dove,
To fly away, to find peace above.
Cast your burden on the Lord, He’ll sustain,
His love and justice, eternally remain.”

Lastly, in Psalm 129, a cry for deliverance resounds,
The oppression faced, the bonds that confound.
Israel, recounting their history of pain,
Yet hoping for redemption, to break every chain.

“Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth,
Yet in their oppression, I found truth.
Let them be put to shame, turned back in dismay,
But let those who love the Lord, forever stay.”

In Psalms 40, 55, and 129, we find,
    Emotions intertwined, prayers intertwined.
Through patience, trust, lament, and plea,
We glimpse the human experience, in faith’s decree.

So let these Psalms inspire, console, and ignite,
As we journey on, seeking God’s guiding light.
In times of joy and sorrow, our hearts He will tend,
For the Psalms, a timeless gift, to us they extend.

  • Poem – Success Means Nothing Without Family

    July 10th, 2023

In your work, where ambition gleamed,
I once chased success, with passion esteemed.
But now my priorities have shifted anew,
My heart and soul, to family I drew.

With the dawn of fatherhood, love untold,
A wife’s embrace, and children to hold,
The fire within, that fueled my career,
Now dims its light, as love draws near.

No longer lured by titles and gains,
I find solace in the simplest of domains.
The laughter of children, like sweetest song,
Gives purpose to days that once felt long.

The race for success now fades to the past,
For time with my loved ones, I hold steadfast.
Their smiles and joys, the treasures I seek,
My motivation transformed, humble and meek.

Though the workplace beckons, with its allure,
My heart remains steadfast, intentions pure.
For in their eyes, I see a love so rare,
    A motivation unmatched, beyond compare.

So let others strive for the ladder’s ascent,
While I find my bliss in a different event.
In nurturing love and building a home,
Where my priorities reside, no more to roam.

For in the twilight of life, when all is said,
I’ll treasure the moments I willingly shed,
To be present for my wife and children dear,
Knowing my love for them will persevere.

  • Poem – Gift From God I Don’t Deserve

    July 9th, 2023

In this ode to love, let the words unfold,
Of a wife, a gift from God, more precious than gold,
For in her presence, grace like a gentle breeze,
I find solace and peace, a soul at ease.

She is the blessing, bestowed from above,
A divine masterpiece, sent with boundless love,
I stand in awe, for she’s far more than I,
A treasure so rare, I can’t fathom why.

Her heart, a vessel of compassion and light,
A beacon of hope that guides through the night,
God’s handcrafted artistry, perfect and true,
A reflection of His grace, shining through.

With unwavering devotion, she embraces each day,
Guided by faith, leading us both on our way,
I humbly confess, I’m not worthy of this prize,
A love so profound, I can’t help but realize.

In her presence, I witness Heaven’s embrace,
A glimpse of God’s mercy, adorned with grace,
Her love reminds me of His infinite care,
A reminder of blessings we’re privileged to share.

So I’ll cherish this gift, each moment we share,
With gratitude deep, and a humble prayer,
For she’s a testament, a reminder of grace,
A wife from God’s hand, in this sacred space.

  • Poem – God Steers Us

    July 9th, 2023

    In noble quests, challenges arise,
    Testing hearts with daunting skies,
For all things worthy are hard to gain,
But perseverance brings the greatest gain.

To make the right choice, a daily task,
Amidst the chaos, burdens, and masks,
Through trials faced, decisions to make,
Perseverance steers us, keeps us awake.

Stay in the Word, its truth embrace,
Guiding light in life’s complex maze,
For in its pages, wisdom resides,
The Word of God, our faithful guide.

When stumbling tempts, threatening our stride,
Look to Jesus, who walks beside,
In His wisdom, seek solace and peace,
From His teachings, find life’s release.

When reflections turn to the sacred Book,
With open hearts, let courage partake,
For change requires a humble soul,
To follow God’s truth, to make us whole.

Not solely reliant on human thought,
But humbly seeking what God has taught,
With courage to let go of our own views,
To align with His will, we must choose.

So let perseverance be our creed,
In noble things, we will succeed,
Stay rooted in the Word, firm and strong,
Look to Jesus, for wisdom lifelong.

    With courage, embrace needed change,
Let go of self, His truth exchange,
For in the journey, through thick and thin,
Perseverance, courage, His love will win.

  • Poem – Faith That Never Ends

    July 9th, 2023

Time, the faithful witness, will unfold,
As days and years their stories told,
Through life’s seasons, trials, and test,
    My steadfast faith will manifest.

Like seeds that grow with patient care,
My love for Jesus, beyond compare,
Each passing moment, each new day,
Strengthens my resolve, come what may.

For time reveals the roots I’ve sown,
Deep in my heart, a faith has grown,
Though skeptics question, their doubts persist,
Time will affirm, this love exists.

In storms that rage and winds that blow,
Jesus’ grace will steady my soul,
The seasons change, the years go by,
Yet in His truth, my heart shall rely.

For time, a witness, will surely show,
My devotion to Jesus, steady and aglow,
No fleeting flame, but an eternal fire,
A bond unbroken, a soul inspired.

So let them speak their doubts and fears,
Time’s gentle touch will dry their tears,
For in this journey, I’ve found my way,
And time will prove my faith won’t ever again sway.

  • Poem – I must weights

    July 9th, 2023

Amidst the trials that test and try,
A marriage once strong now strained, oh I know why?
But fear not, dear soul, for hope remains,
    Through suffering’s touch, redemption claims.

Just as Jesus bore the weight of pain,
To mend our hearts and make us whole again,
So too, in the crucible of strife,
A chance for renewal breathes new life.

For suffering holds a purpose divine,
To shape and heal, like sacred design.
Through trials endured, a love reborn,
A bond reforged, battle scars adorn.

With steadfast faith, press on, endure,
Embrace the pain, let healing assure,
That just as Jesus suffered for you,
A marriage can be restored anew.

In each trial faced, let love abide,
With patience, forgiveness, side by side.
For the path to restoration lies ahead,
With Jesus as guide, no need to dread.

    Together, in grace, hearts intertwined,
A testament to love, once undermined.
Through suffering’s touch, let your love ignite,
And resurrect a marriage, shining bright.

So, hold on to hope, let it be your guide,
As Jesus suffered, let love reside.
May your union find strength in each test,
And be a testament to love’s conquest.

  • Poem – The Gift of Difficulty

    July 9th, 2023

During noble quests, truth rings clear,
Through trials and hurdles, the path does veer.
For all great things are born of toil and strain,
    Perseverance, the key to attain.

Choices faced, a crucible of the soul,
They heed virtue’s call, to make themselves whole.
Like Jesus, who sacrificed for their sake,
They strive to choose right, though their hearts may quake.

Difficulties, a gift from God above,
To shape and mold them with divine love.
For in the crucible of trials faced,
They find strength and growth, divinely graced.

Yet, a gift divine, his wife beside him,
A beacon of love, bestowed graciously.
From God’s own grace, she shines, undeserved,
A blessing so profound, his heart is stirred.

In every moment, he’s humbled, aware,
Of the treasure he holds, beyond compare.
Her presence, a testament to love’s grace,
A reminder of blessings they embrace.

So let them tread the noble path, hand in hand,
Together, they’ll rise, steadfast, they’ll withstand.
For love, like all worthy things, demands their all,
And with God’s grace, they’ll conquer every fall.

  • Poem – Mental Focus

    July 8th, 2023

In realms unseen, where spirits reside,
A tale unfolds, of souls unified.
In search of solace, they tread the path,
Finding solace in mental health’s embrace.

Amidst the turmoil, they seek the light,
Yearning for peace, to make things right.
In depths of darkness, they strive to cope,
With burdens heavy, they seek a new hope.

And there, amidst the chaos, a divine ray,
Guiding their steps, leading the way.
A presence steadfast, serene, and strong,
God’s love embracing, tender and long.

With open arms, He offers His grace,
    Whispering comfort, a warm embrace.
In prayer and stillness, they find release,
An anchor for their troubled inner peace.

Through valleys deep, where shadows loom,
God’s healing touch begins to bloom.
Within their hearts, His light unfurls,
    Illuminating wounds, soothing their whirls.

They learn to trust, to let go and surrender,
To find resilience and inner splendor.
In God’s embrace, their souls revive,
As they focus on mental health, and thrive.

For in the journey of self-discovery,
    They unearth treasures of serenity.
With God as their guide, their rock, their guide,
They find strength, courage to abide.

So let their stories inspire us all,
    To prioritize mental health’s call.
With God as the compass, love as the key,
We’ll find harmony, mind, and spirit set free.

  • Poem – Her Free

    July 8th, 2023

In the shawls of love’s eternal flame,
Where passion burns, my heart aflame,
I must find the strength to let her be,
To give her space, so she feels free.

For when love soars to its highest peak,
And every word and touch we seek,
It takes true courage to step aside,
To honor her needs, let ego subside.

In her eyes, I see a longing gaze,
A yearning for solitude, a gentle haze,
To find her own path, to embrace her grace,
To wander freely, at her own pace.

Though my love for her may reach the skies,
I understand the need to let her rise,
To explore her dreams, her innermost being,
To bloom in her solitude, her spirit freeing.

For love is not a cage that binds,
But a beacon guiding hearts and minds,
To grow and flourish, to find one’s own way,
In the vast expanse of life’s grand ballet.

So I gather strength, in love’s embrace,
To grant her space, with tender grace,
Knowing that our love will endure,
    Even when distance may obscure.

For love will find its roots in Jesus,
In giving freedom, it’s the reason,
And in this act of selflessness, I see,
That love’s strength lies in setting her free.

So, I’ll hold her love, steadfast and true,
With faith and patience, our bond will renew,
For in the space we grant, love finds its art,
And together, we’ll soar, never apart.

  • Poem – Forgiveness Flows

    July 8th, 2023

In the world love and grace divine,
Where forgiveness flows like sacred wine,
Jesus, the guide with compassionate eyes,
Teaches us how to mend the ties.

When tensions rise and words wound deep,
And in our hearts, resentment seeps,
    Jesus whispers, “Let forgiveness bloom,
For in forgiveness, there is no room
For bitterness to fester and grow,
But rather, love’s pure essence will show.”

He bids us to lay down our pride,
To set aside our hurtful stride,
    To seek understanding, empathize,
    And with open hearts, apologize.

For in the arms of forgiveness, we find,
Healing balm for the wounded mind,
A bridge that spans the chasm wide,
Between hearts that once stood in divide.

With patience and kindness as our guide,
We can let go of the pain inside,
For Jesus shows us the way to mend,
To rebuild and restore, not just pretend.

He teaches us the power to release,
To let go of grudges and find peace,
To see beyond faults and imperfection,
And embrace our spouse with true affection.

For in the footsteps of Jesus, we learn,
That forgiveness is the key to discern,
A love that’s steadfast, strong, and pure,
An enduring bond that will endure.

So let us heed His gentle plea,
And with His grace, our hearts set free,
Forgiving our spouse, as we’ve been forgiven,
With love as our compass, life’s storms we’ll be driven.

  • Poem – Audible Voice Of God

    July 8th, 2023

In the stillness of your soul’s gentle embrace,

A whisper emerged, adorned with heavenly grace.
The audible voice of God, clear and pure,
Said “good,” in words that forever endure.

It echoed through the depths of your being,
Confirmation of a path you’re keenly seeing.
A divine assurance, bestowed from above,
Affirming your journey, bound by God’s love.

In that sacred moment, doubts were cast aside,
As faith and conviction swelled like the tide.
You knew, without question, you were in His sight,
Guided by His wisdom, bathed in His light.

Your steps aligned with His divine will,
Each choice, each action, a testament still.
The voice of God, resonating deep within,
Uplifted your spirit, fortified from within.

Through joys and trials, His voice remained,
    A compass, a solace, a truth sustained.
With unwavering faith, you carried on,
Knowing His words echoed like a sacred song.

Him calling my name and hearing “good” from the voice divine,
You found purpose and peace in every design.
Your journey, aligned with God’s perfect plan,
A testament to His love, hand in hand.

So let your heart’s voice, in harmony, sing,
Embracing the goodness that His words bring.
For when God’s voice speaks, trust in its grace,
And follow His path, forever embraced.

  • Poem – What a 3rd Revelation

    July 7th, 2023

In the midst of revelations, a sacred tale unfurls,
Where wisdom’s essence and truth it hurls.
Behold, Revelation 3, a chapter divine,
With hidden messages, like jewels they shine.

To the church of Sardis, a warning is sent,
“Awake from your slumber, lest you repent.
Your deeds are incomplete, your faith grown cold,
Rekindle the fire, let your spirit be bold.”

To the church in Philadelphia, a promise is made,
An open door awaits, in grace they’ll be swayed.
Though they face tribulations, they’ll be upheld,
Their steadfastness rewarded, as their story is propelled.

The church in Laodicea, lukewarm and unsure,
Their self-sufficiency blinds, their hearts impure.
“Be zealous and repent,” the voice rings clear,
To drink from true riches, beyond all earthly veneer.

The messages unravel, divine whispers of grace,
Guiding believers to seek a heavenly embrace.
    In Revelation 3, revelations abound,
A testament of love, where faith is renowned.

So let us heed these words, with hearts awake,
Embrace the revelations, our souls to shake.
For in this timeless chapter, truth takes flight,
Revealing the path to eternal delight.

  • Poem – Talking Good

    July 7th, 2023

In whispers, let our words be kind,
For judgment’s cloak we shall unwind.
When someone’s absence fills the air,
Speak not of them in words unfair.

    In shadows, let compassion thrive,
In every sentence, let it strive.
For when we sow respect and grace,
The bonds of trust we shall embrace.

For tongues that wag in hurtful jest,
Can tarnish hearts and souls unrest.
    Instead, let empathy prevail,
And tender thoughts in us unveil.

For silence holds a gentle power,
To bridge the gaps in every hour.
Let’s build a world where words unite,
And honor blooms in darkest night.

So when they’re gone, let’s pledge anew,
To keep their absence sacred, true.
For in our words, their spirit thrives,
And love endures, where darkness dives.

  • Poem – United Family

    July 7th, 2023

In a world where love’s connection is found,
With my wife, kids, and Jesus around,
    We stand united, hearts intertwined,
A bond of togetherness, divinely designed.

With grace as our guide, we journey as one,
Through life’s trials, together we’ll run.
In the warmth of love, our spirits take flight,
Bound by a connection that shines ever bright.

My wife, love her in life’s grand dance,
Her presence, a source of love and romance.
With her, our union is complete,
Together we conquer, with strength and feat.

Our kids, precious gifts, pure and true,
Their laughter, a melody that carries us through.
With each joyful moment, their innocence imparts,
Weaving joy into our united hearts.

And in the presence of Jesus, our rock and guide,
We find solace and peace, with Him by our side.
His love, a guiding light that illuminates our way,
He leads us together, through night and day.

So let us nurture this divine unity,
With love, faith, and hope, our eternal affinity.
Together, we soar, with hearts aglow,
In this journey of togetherness, as a family, we shall grow.

  • Poem – Hope In Loves Light

    July 7th, 2023

In life’s trials, where shadows may loom,
I’ve tasted heartache, seen dreams meet their gloom.
Yet through the challenges, a glimmer does reside,
A flicker of hope that refuses to hide.

Moving on does not mean to forget,
But to embrace wounds and lessons met.
Like a phoenix rising from ashes of old,
I gather strength, my spirit unfolds.

With each passing day, a step I’ll take,
Leaving behind what caused my heartache.
For hope blooms anew, like a springtime flower,
Revealing the strength within our power.

I’ll mend my soul, piece by tender piece,
Embracing the future, finding sweet release.
Though scars may linger, they’ll tell a tale,
Of resilience forged through the fiercest gale.

And as I journey on, I offer my prayer,
For togetherness, a bond we can share.
May hearts align and dreams intertwine,
In unity’s embrace, may love entwine.

So let me move on, with hope as my guide,
In the vast expanse, my dreams will reside.
With steadfast faith, my heart will take flight,
For in the realm of possibilities, I’ll find my love’s light.

  • Poem – Separate

    July 7th, 2023

    Love’s bittersweet embrace,

    The journey we now face.

Where once entwined, two souls in  rhyme,

Now seek solace in a separate paradigm.

Like autumn leaves, we drift upon life’s breeze,

Parting directions, a choice that brings unease.

Yet hope lingers, a flicker in the night,

That our paths will intertwine again, ignite.

For love’s flame will flicker, but never die,

As we learn to spread our wings, touch the sky.

In separation’s realm, we find room to grow,

Discovering ourselves, as new seeds we sow.

Through tear-stained moments and aching hearts,

We’ll nurture wounds, for healing always starts.

With time’s gentle touch, wounds will slowly mend,

Allowing love’s rebirth, a chance to transcend.

In this chapter of separation’s tome,

We’ll learn to dance, find joy, and call it home.

For even now, our love’s never lost,

It weaves through memories, no matter the cost.

So let us wander, brave and unafraid,

Embrace this change, as light seems to fade.

With open hearts, we’ll cherish what we have,

And build a future where love’s flame won’t be sad.

Births the chance to love anew,

To mend our souls, and cherish what is true.

And when the time is right, if fate allows,

Our love will find its way back, and thus, we’ll vow.

To embrace the beauty of a second chance,

To rekindle love’s fire in a blissful dance.

For in this journey, as our paths untwine,

We’ll forge a love that’s stronger, so divine.

So, dear wife, take heart in this rhyme’s refrain,

That love’s separation is not in vain.

Your heart will heal, and Jesus’s light guide your way,

To a future where love blooms, come Christ’s will may.

  • Poem – In The Darkest Hour

    July 7th, 2023

In darkest hours, when shadows loom,
And evil’s grip engulfs the room,
I turn to faith, where hope resides,
In Jesus’ love, my soul confides.

For in His teachings, I find the way,
To face the pain that clouds my day,
His gentle words, a soothing balm,
Bring solace to my heart’s deep calm.

When suffering tests my spirit’s might,
I look to Jesus, a guiding light,
He bore the cross, endured the strife,
To show me grace, to give me life.

Though evil tempts with cruel disdain,
In Christ’s embrace, I shall remain,
For His redemption, steadfast and sure,
    Delivers me from pain’s allure.

In prayer, I find a tranquil peace,
When all around seems to decrease,
Jesus, my refuge, steadfast and true,
With every step, He’ll see me through.

So let the storms of life assail,
With hope and faith, I shall prevail,
For in Jesus’ love, my strength is found,
His grace, eternal, knows no bound.

  • Poem – No Touch

    July 7th, 2023

In the depths of solitude, a silent ache,
A struggle unspoken, a path hard to take.
No touch, no intimacy, a void in my soul,
The struggle of longing, takes its heavy toll.

Desire’s flame, once burning bright and fierce,
Now smolders in longing, unquenched and pierced.
The touch of another, a distant memory,
Lost in the labyrinth of this lonely journey.

    Passion’s whispers, like a phantom’s caress,
Haunt the corridors of my loneliness.
Yearning for connection, the warmth of embrace,
Yet trapped in a realm where desires must face.

Society’s judgments, they cast their cruel gaze,
    Labeling, stigmatizing, causing dismays.
But deep within, a flame still flickers and yearns,
To break free from this struggle, to unlearn.

For the struggle of connection is not a flaw,
Nor a burden to bear, nor a moral law.
It’s a journey of discovery, raw and real,
An exploration of desires, a chance to heal.

In patience and resilience, I shall find my way,
Embracing my truth, without shame or dismay.
For intimacy exists in various forms,
    Beyond physicality, where connection transforms.

So, I’ll navigate this struggle with strength and grace,
Embracing my essence, with an open embrace.
Knowing that within me, a power resides,
To find fulfillment and love, where the soul presides.

  • Poem – Mark’s Christ

    July 6th, 2023

In a tale of darkness that engulfs the soul,
A somber story where shadows take their toll.
Amidst the chaos, despair does arise,
A haunting narrative that pierces through the skies.

Yet even in the depths, a glimmer of hope,
A resilient flame that helps us cope.
Beneath the weight of anguish and despair,
A spark of light emerges, a promise to repair.

For in the crowd’s vile cries, compassion may be found,
A seed of empathy in hearts once bound.
Through the unjust trial and twisted deceit,
The power of truth and love will ultimately defeat.

Led by soldiers, a path of suffering unfolds,
Each step a torment, pain that never folds.
But within the pain, a strength does arise,
A resilience that refuses to compromise.

Nailed to the cross, agony courses through His veins,
Grim torment echoes, torment that remains.
Yet His words of forgiveness, a beacon so bright,
Illuminate the darkest corners, ushering in light.

Gloom descends, the earth trembles with despair,
A world engulfed in shadows, burdened by its share.
But redemption’s price brings forth a new dawn,
A ray of hope emerges, as the old is withdrawn.

Reflect upon this tale, embrace its embrace,
For even in darkness, hope finds a place.
The story of anguish and suffering we face,
Is interwoven with hope, an enduring embrace.

  • Poem – Remorseful Redemption

    July 6th, 2023

In shadows cast by yesteryears’ despair,
Regret’s bitter tinge fills the heavy air.
With remorse as a burden upon my soul,
I seek redemption to make myself whole.

Oh, how I wish to rewrite my past,
Undo mistakes and make amends that last.
But time’s unyielding grip won’t let me sway,
Thus, I must find another path to portray.

Through ashes of remorse, hope shall ignite,
A chance to mend, to make my wrongs right.
With humble steps and a contrite heart,
    Redemption’s flame can surely impart.

For in the depths of regret’s dark embrace,
    Opportunity awaits, poised with grace.
To reconcile with those I’ve hurt in strife,
To seek forgiveness and reclaim my life.

No more shall I dwell in the shadows of old,
Instead, I’ll forge a future, strong and bold.
With lessons learned, my spirit will ascend,
A tale of redemption, a life to mend.

So, let remorse be the catalyst for change,
A catalyst that transforms and rearranges.
Regret and redemption, intertwined as one,
The journey begun, a new chapter begun.

  • Poem – Biggest Joy Worst Pain

    July 6th, 2023

Within the depths of my being, a dual dance,
Joy overflowing, yet pain’s grip, a chance.
    A paradox unfolding, emotions collide,
The brightest smiles, with tears I can’t hide.

My heart sings with laughter, a blissful refrain,
Yet sorrow creeps in, leaving stains.
In moments of triumph, pain finds its way,
A constant companion, shadows in play.

The joy, it blossoms, like flowers in bloom,
Filling my spirit, dispelling the gloom.
But pain, it lingers, a heavy burden to bear,
Testing my resilience, leaving scars to repair.

Oh, how the contrast weaves through my days,
A tapestry of emotions, a complex maze.
The highs and lows, an intricate dance,
Testing the strength of my soul’s stance.

In the midst of joy, I glimpse pain’s plight,
A reminder of the fragility of life’s light.
But within pain’s grasp, resilience takes flight,
Transforming the darkness into strength’s might.

So I embrace the duality, the paradox so clear,
Knowing that joy and pain both draw near.
For in pain’s depths, resilience is found,
And joy’s radiance shines on sacred ground.

With open arms, I welcome both joy and pain,
For they shape my being, an intricate chain.
Through the depths of pain, I find growth anew,
And in joy’s overflow, my spirit continues to renew.

So I’ll navigate this journey, embracing the blend,
Knowing that joy and pain, they both transcend.
In the tapestry of life, they intertwine,
And I’ll rise above, with resilience as mine.

For within this paradox, I’ll find my way,
Celebrating the joy, easing the pain’s sway.
And as I walk this path, through joy and strife,
I’ll embrace it all, for it is the essence of life.
