Non-Fixer

I see the weight you carry in your eyes,
The quiet ache that words don’t always hold,
A storm that lingers just beneath your breath,
Unseen by most, but never lost on me.

And every part of me wants to reach in,
To steady what feels broken or undone,
To take the pieces gently in my hands
And somehow make the chaos settle down.

But love, I’m learning something in this too—
Not every hurt is mine to mend or move,
Not every shadow yields to borrowed light,
Not every battle needs another sword.

So I will sit with you inside the dark,
Not as a savior, but as steady ground,
A quiet presence when the world feels loud,
A hand to hold when standing feels too much.

You don’t have to be okay for me,
You don’t have to gather strength on cue,
You don’t have to hide the trembling parts—
I’ll meet you there, exactly as you are.

And if the best I offer is just this—
A listening heart, a place to safely fall,
Then let it be enough, because for you,
I’d rather stay than try to make it right.

Through every season, shifting, harsh, or kind,
Through nights that seem to stretch without an end,
My love for you will not be worn away—
It roots itself far deeper than the pain.

You are my always, constant through it all,
The quiet truth my heart keeps coming back to,
And whether skies are clear or filled with storm,
You are my forever love—I’m here.
