Psalms 120

1. The psalmist cries out to the Lord in distress.

2. He asks to be delivered from lying lips and a deceitful tongue.


3-4. He laments the warrior’s sharp arrows and hot coals of the broom bush as a metaphor for the pain deceit causes.
5-7. He bemoans living among those who hate peace, as he is for peace but when he speaks, they are for war.
