Devo – Genesis 48

  1. Verse 1 – Cherishing Family Moments: Like Jacob gathering his family, I should prioritize spending quality time with my loved ones, creating cherished memories that will endure.
  2. Verse 9 – Embracing Aging: Just as Jacob didn’t let his old age hinder him from blessing his grandsons, I should embrace each stage of life and find meaningful ways to contribute.
  3. Verse 10 – Adapting to Limitations: Jacob’s failing eyesight didn’t stop him from recognizing his grandsons. Similarly, I should adapt to challenges, finding new perspectives despite limitations.
  4. Verse 15 – Parental Guidance: Joseph’s careful positioning of his sons for the blessing reminds me to seek and appreciate my parents’ guidance, as they offer insights based on their experiences.
  5. Verse 17 – Seeing Inner Potential: Jacob’s insight into Ephraim and Manasseh’s potential beyond appearances prompts me to look past surface-level judgments and see the hidden qualities in others.
  6. Verse 19 – Embracing Surprises: Jacob’s unconventional blessing teaches me to be open to unexpected blessings and to see the beauty in surprises that come my way.
  7. Verse 21 – Trusting God’s Journey: Just as Jacob recounted God’s guidance in his life, I should reflect on how God has led me through challenges and successes, fostering trust in His plan.
  8. Verse 22 – Passing on Leadership: Jacob passing on his staff symbolizes my responsibility to pass on the values and principles I hold dear to those who come after me.
