Time’s Ceaseless Passage

In patient steps through ache’s encompassing hold,
As Jacob’s years, with silent grace enfolded,
He waited, hoped, love’s intricate path he traced,
Seven plus seven, as stars, in boundless space.

The days and days witness, steadfast and true,
To vows and dreams, where love’s roots grew,
Yet trials and time, like morning’s fleeting dew,
Veiled the union, love’s radiance subdued.

As Jacob toiled for Rachel’s coveted hand,
I stand, awaiting fate’s delicate strand,
Once intertwined in sacred union’s band,
Reconciliation’s trek unplanned.

Fourteen years of longing, of struggle, and strife,
In life’s ancient narrative, etching its rife,
Parallel tracks, my heart and his, entwined,
Bearing love’s weight, resiliently aligned.

Time’s ceaseless passage inflicts wounds to mend,
Like Jacob’s patience, mine I extend,
To nurture reconciling hearts on the mend,
With hope that love’s essence will ultimately transcend.
