Poem – The Covenant

In the covenant, love’s core,
Values cherished, forevermore.

Respect, the cornerstone, they’ll find,
In every word, and gesture kind.

Communication, open, clear,
To share their hopes, their doubts, their fear.

In trust, their hearts entwined and true,
A bridge connecting me to you.

Compassion, like a gentle breeze,
In every moment, love to seize.

Forgiveness, as a healing balm,
To mend the wounds, to bring the calm.

Devotion, like the rising sun,
Each day anew, their souls as one.

In patience, grace, they’ll find their way,
Through trials faced, come what may.

Honesty, a beacon bright,
In darkest hours, it guides their sight.

Empathy, to understand,
Each other’s joys, and sorrows grand.

In loyalty, they stand united,
Through thick and thin, their hearts ignited.

In gratitude, they’ll count their bliss,
For every hug, each tender kiss.

In humility, they’ll learn and grow,
To admit mistakes and strengths to show.

In compromise, they’ll meet halfway,
To find solutions, come what may.

In selflessness, they’ll give and share,
To lift each other, love to care.

In faithfulness, their hearts align,
Their love enduring, like aged wine.

With these values as their guide,
Their covenant love will e’er abide.

In the realm of old, their tale will gleam,
In God’s eternal love, like an ageless dream.
