Doing extra this morning because I am needing him more right now.
Psalms 57 thoughts:
David had to escape from attackers and hide in caves.
So, David starts by asking God for help and to get him out of his messed up situation. He pictures God as a mother bird protecting her babies from storms and rain with her wings. David’s pretty sure that God will keep him safe because of the promises made to him. Even though his enemies are attacking him like wild animals, throwing weapons and hurling insults, David knows that God’s got his back. He’s like, “The whole world needs to hear about how awesome God is!”.
Because David has such strong faith, he’s sure that his enemies will only end up hurting themselves. He promises to praise. David talks about God’s “steadfast love” and how God is loyal and merciful to His chosen people. It ends by repeating, saying that God’s praises should be heard all over the world. Rest in Him.
