Devo – Day 11 / Psalms 11

I think the main point is that those who follow God should trust Him and stand strong against evil. When the authority that honors God is lost, everything falls apart. You probably have experienced this just like I have.

At the beginning of this one, David asks himself a question like, “Should I run away in fear?” But his answer is a resounding “No way!” He knows that if godly authority, like his role as king, crumbles, it’s gonna be a disaster. The third verse of this psalm can be applied to different aspects of life, whether it’s culture, family, government, or personal faith. Basically, when the foundations we rely on are destroyed, we’re in big trouble.

Instead of running away, David celebrates the fact that God is in control and knows everything. He knows that God deeply cares about His people and righteousness. The psalm ends with David praying for God’s justice to come down on the wicked and expressing his hope to see God one day.
