Poem – Kick The Devil In His Arse

In self-reliance, I once did dwell,
Chasing desires, unaware of where they fell.
But a whisper, a call, reached deep within,
It was time to turn around, to shed that worldly skin.

So I embarked on a journey, a path anew,
To reconnect with God, to rediscover what is true.
No longer enslaved by selfish ambitions’ snare,
I set my sights on love, compassion, and care.

Oh, the devil, that cunning deceiver of old,
With his twisted lies and stories untold.
But armed with God’s truth, I stood tall and bold,
Ready to give that tempter a kick, so he’d be controlled.

I cast away the chains of self-serving ways,
Embracing the call to brighten others’ days.
For in serving, in giving, true joy is found,
A harmony of hearts, a symphony resound.

No longer blinded by the world’s empty plea,
I turned my gaze to God, His love setting me free.
With every step, His grace became my guide,
In His loving embrace, I chose to abide.

So let us ditch self-reliance, that empty pursuit,
And return to God, who makes all things astute.
With hearts ablaze, let’s care for one another,
And give the devil a kick, standing firm in God’s truth, brother and sister.
