Poem – Thanks James

In James Chapter Two, a lesson we find,
About faith and works, intricately intertwined.
For James, the message was loud and clear,
Belief without action is nothing to cheer.

He starts by emphasizing the importance of deeds,
Genuine faith in God bears fruits like seeds.
It’s not about works saving us from sin,
But they reveal the trust we have within.

Imagine a gathering, rich and poor in sight,
Should favoritism cast its discriminatory light?
James challenges this unjust display,
Our faith should treat all with love every day.

No more should the wealthy be put on a throne,
While the poor are left to stand alone.
For trust in God should be our guiding force,
Not seeking favor from the wealthy’s course.

Showing favoritism is a sin, he proclaims,
Breaking the command to love without aims.
We stand in need of mercy, one and all,
Our actions should reflect this truth, big or small.

James argues it’s not enough to say, “I believe,”
Our faith must inspire actions, we must achieve.
He illustrates with an example of care,
Empty words mean nothing if deeds aren’t there.

Some see conflict between James and Paul’s view,
But they both point to faith that rings true.
Paul emphasizes grace, not works alone,
While James shows works as fruit fully grown.

Faith without works is like a body dead,
No breath of life, no spirit to be fed.
Let our faith be alive, vibrant, and real,
With deeds of love, compassion, and zeal.

So, let James’ message sink deep in our hearts,
Faith and works together, each playing its part.
For it’s not enough to simply believe,
Our faith should inspire actions to achieve.
