In Mark 11, a tale is told,
Of a humble donkey, gentle and bold.
A colt, unridden, brought near the Lord,
For a purpose divine, in accordance with God’s word.
With garments spread upon its back,
The donkey carried a burden it lacked,
A symbol of peace, and a sign of grace,
As Jesus rode in with love to embrace.
The people gathered, their voices raised,
Hailing the Savior, with hearts amazed.
They laid down palms, a carpeted way,
An adoring crowd on that blessed day.
The donkey, obedient and meek,
Carried the One, the Messiah they seek.
A humble creature, chosen with care,
To bear the weight of salvation’s air.
Oh, donkey dear, you played your part,
Transporting hope to every heart.
Through dusty streets, you trod with pride,
As Jesus, the King, triumphantly rode.
Your simple presence, a profound role,
Reminds us that greatness can dwell in the soul.
For in humility, strength is found,
And in service, true purpose is crowned.
So let us learn from the donkey’s tale,
To serve with love, and never to fail.
For in each of us lies the power to bring,
Peace, hope, and joy to the world we’re in.
