Poem – Stay Awake

In Mark’s true words, a verse unfolds,

A tale of vigilance yet to be told,

“Stay awake,” the words echo profound,

Asking hearts and minds to be everfound.

Oh, let those words soak deep within,

To pierce our souls, to cleanse our sin,

Mark 13:35-37, a divine decree,

A call to embrace eternity.

Jesus spoke of His imminent return,

When angels would gather, hearts would yearn,

From earth’s far corners to heaven’s embrace,

The Son of man shall reveal His grace.

With power and glory, He shall descend,

His presence unbound, no limit to transcend,

No mortal knows the appointed hour,

So we must be prepared, each day, each hour.

Two thousand years have come and gone,

Yet the truth remains steadfast and strong,

Closer we draw to that glorious sight,

Stay awake, be ready, with hearts alight.

Like a house awaiting its master’s return,

We guard our faith, our souls yearn,

In the evening’s shadow, or at midnight’s call,

We stay awake, lest we stumble and fall.

Oh, let us not slumber in ignorance’s embrace,

But watch and pray, seek heavenly grace,

For in every moment, a chance to prepare,

To meet our Savior, in His love to share.

So, dear soul, ask yourself this day,

Are you ready for Christ’s glorious way?

Let Mark’s words guide you, a beacon bright,

Stay awake, be ready, in truth’s pure light.
