Poem – Life

In the depths of life’s trials, I found my way,

Within an emergency room, where shadows lay.

A moment of despair, a glimpse into fate,

But it transformed my perspective, my heart to elevate.

As I lay there vulnerable, weak and afraid,

A newfound strength within me, silently swayed.

It dawned upon my soul, like a gentle breeze,

That life is a precious gift, to cherish and seize.

In that sacred space, I faced mortality’s truth,

And my priorities shifted even more, in wisdom and youth.

I leaned on God’s embrace, His guiding light,

Embracing love’s essence, with renewed insight.

My wife, my anchor, my love’s steadfast shore,

Her unwavering life presence, I value even more.

Memory of every smile, every touch, a treasure untold,

For in her arms, I desire solace, love to be remold.

My children, like precious gems, so pure and bright,

Their laughter and innocence, a guiding light.

I hold them closer, my heart overflowing,

A love unconditional, endlessly growing.

Life’s fragility became a guiding force,

To savor each moment, to love without remorse.

For in that emergency room, a perspective was born,

A grateful heart emerged, no longer torn.

So I embrace each sunrise with gratitude and grace,

Knowing life’s fragility, in this earthly space.

I lean on God’s presence, His love evermore,

And cherish my family, whom I adore.
